Better to be safe than sorry, still not showing below 40 here Crossing Fingers! Crossing Fingers! . It is interesting that is shows highs in the 60's each day, but over 20 degree drop for lows Shrug! .
Accuweather shows same as Weatherunderground for here.

Sherri, I'm on the barrier island and our weather is substantially different than it is across the bridge. It's very difficult to find weather reports specific to this location. I keep a lot of weather records just for that reason.

Arlene, I get that, we're right off Lake Jesup, and it changes the temperatures and winds from what the actual reports show. Another great app for your phone is https://myradar.com/ I really like the radar for my walks, not so great at temperature predictions though, but great for rain alerts.

Arlene, having lived on a barrier island for 20 years I envy you your microclimate. I am betting your soil temp is significantly warmer, I know that was the case where I lived. The ocean never went below 55 there so the ground water (and the ground) stayed at 55 also.

The last time I looked at News4Jax it was saying a possible frost inland for Saturday morning. Shrug!

East of the St. Johns we should be OK but it will be darn chilly - around 40. Brrrrrrr

I agree and I'm just west of the river, and a former Girl Scout! Hilarious! Best to be prepared! Sure hope it's the last one for this year!

Isn't it strange how the temp is so different such a short distance away, the river clearly defines the difference. The water is pretty wide out here but it is the same closer to downtown where the river is more narrow.

I am in putnam about 15 miles east of Alachua county so I always worry that the temps could get super low for me and frost although I am not in that county when Alachua gets their frost warnings.

Yes, Alice.
Right now our temp is saying 88, with a "feels like" of 91....
No rain yet, but very windy!
Makes it really hard to believe that we could see frost Sat. AM.... grrrr!
The river makes a huge difference!

Eric, if it was me, I'd definitely be watching Gainesvilles weather. You're not far at all, and being more inland than them...I think I'd be taking precautions... aggravating, isn't it!

That's what I'm seeing too! Lows in the mid to lower 30's, but winds are still a factor, so I'm taking that as a good sign. Crossing Fingers!

Finally heard news4jax mention that it would be too windy tonight for frost to develop in north central fl.

Yesterday's storm was a big bust here, pretty good winds but nothing more than a light sprinkle of rain.

Storm was pretty good for us. Got just over 1"! Very much needed!
The wind on the other hand... not so welcomed...

It's been in the mid 80's for Wednesday and Thursday. I'm expecting that the ground is warm enough to protect my plants from the 48 degrees this evening. Probably will have low 50's if I know my location as well as I think I do. No rain here, either!

Noaa states there maybe patchy frost at 8:50 on update. I don't see how that is helpful. Weather channel does not mention anything about frost.
