I'll bet it is the Bandana series. The name cherry sunrise is patented. I had not received my Almost Eden order and was becoming very concerned. Not only did I order some expensive plants, but the shipping on them was rather high. I sent them an e Mail, and someone returned my e mail promptly explaining that they had too many plants ordered for the original shipping time slot I had selected. Ok, the company has experienced a huge surge in sales of online purchases, I get that, but if they were going to wait to ship my plants, why didn't they send me an e Mail? I spent over a week worrying that they got lost in the mail. This happened recently with an order of tomato plants coming in from Tennessee. Tracking suggested it was in a warehouse "somewhere". It took over a week to get to me, but the plants were ok due to the cool weather and the care that was taken in packing them for shipping. Good old United States Postal service. D'Oh!

I hope I get my Almost Eden this week. When I placed the order, the first shipping week was May 25.

Up until a few days ago, we were unseasonably cool, cloudy and rainy. Now, we've been experiencing unseasonable temps in the 80's, humidity, mugginess and stormy.

I received an email not too long ago that Romence Gardens wouldn't be able to ship my order till late May, since they had so many orders. This is the last week of May too.

I hope there won't be any problem with getting both my orders this month from the two places. I hope we'll be having good weather when the plants arrive too.

Our weather has been much the same. Unseasonably cool for a long time. Lots of rain. Suddenly it's summer temps. But the rain continues. 80% chance every day through Saturday. The plants I've got on order will be container plants, so I don't have to worry about getting them in the ground. If your plants don't arrive on time from Almost Eden, I would suggest sending an e Mail. They seem to be struggling with the shipping right now.

For me it was a decision between a porterweed and a brugmansia. Since I've wanted a brugmansia for say, about 8 years now, the brugmansia won out. Guess I'll get the porterweed next year. Unlike you, Eric, I have to bring mine in for the winter!

Eric,

I usually check Almost Eden every week or so to see if plants are in stock or back in stock. Some porterweeds were in stock within the past 4 weeks or so and some longer (more weeks) than that.

I thought about getting a porterweed or two for containers again this year, but decided on other plants this year. I'm going to try and get at least one for next year.

I just let mine die with the freeze/frost here in containers and get new plants the following year.

I'm going to try to keep the brugmansia going inside this year. I've done that with a lime tree and my huge crown of thorns. I know have a large tree philo to keep inside for the winter. I'm so tight I have issues paying the price for the brugmansia and then throwing it away at the end of the season!

I don't have the space and/or the time to overwinter plants.

I do have the space, although it is being filled up. My living room window is very large, and faces South. It's high enough up that I don't have curtains on it. The plants serve as curtains. Smiling It really doesn't take much time taking care of the plants. Most of the smaller ones, the cactus, succulents, etc. don't need a lot of watering, maybe once a month or less. Worst part of it is leaf drop.

I saw tie dye I'm stock only when they first listed it on the website. As to what's taking so long, it's called covid 19. No, really! Various reports on the news about the huge surge in sales of garden plants, seeds and equipment. Burpee reporting a 400% rise in sales, an unprecedented number.

Ended up ordering the Durham porterweed. I was hoping I could wait a few more days, but it's close to selling out. Why can't they put out all the porterweeds together? Lol if I waited probably miss out on it. Says they aren't shipping it till 6 15 so gives me time to figure out my pot situation for it.

Well, still waiting for my turks cap and brugmansia. I sent them an e mail about them, and they e mailed me back saying they had to move my shipping because they had scheduled too many orders that week. I'm thinking they wouldn't have done that if I had not e mailed them first. Kind of teed me off.
I do have pots ready.

Eric,

I'm glad you placed an order for the porterweed before they sold out. I'm probably going to wish I'd order a porterweed when they had some in stock. Oh well, there's always next year.

I thought about getting the new Durham variety, but they didn't have a pic at the time when I made my order. I see they have it up now. Looks beautiful.

Lynda,

I still haven't received an email from Almost Eden regarding my order that was suppose to ship this week and I thought about emailing them about it, but then I don't want them to ship it over the weekend, so I didn't. I probably will on Sunday and hope it ships next week.

Marilyn, I'm pretty sure that they ship out early enough in the week to avoid the plants coming in on the weekend. I'm thinking I was told my plants would ship out on Tuesday. And then of course, when your plants arrive depend on the shipping company and method that's used. My order from select seeds was sent UPS priority and arrived in three days. Worth the extra charges, especially this time of year when the temps are rising rapidly.
