@Miamiu,

Could you post the salvia links from the database regarding the grape sage and watermelon sages, so I know which ones your talking about?

I've never grown the Mirage line of salvias, but am interested.

@teacup754,

Here's the link for the coccinea salivas.

https://garden.org/plants/sear...

If you're not sure it's Lady in Red, you could have Scarlet Sage (Salvia coccinea), which I've grown before, besides Lady in Red.

The ones I have are actually self seeded from previous years, so I'm not sure if they come true from seed if they're a named special variety. But they are a nice red for sure.

My lady in red has re seeded itself now for 21 years! I bought the original plant that long ago. Someone on another thread suggested that it would not be the original strain now, but it looks the same, and I don't really care if it is or not, it's still very pretty. Kermit at FBTS has some nice annual coccinea for sale, including the nymphs, Brenthurst pink and two reds.

Eric,

Grape scented sage = Salvia melissodora

Grape-Scented Sage (Salvia melissodora)

I got my plants (different years) from FBTS, since it isn't hardy here.

Eric,

Is the watermelon scented sage you were referring to Baby Sage (Salvia microphylla 'Wild Watermelon')?

Baby Sage (Salvia microphylla 'Wild Watermelon')

I don't know where I got the plant(s) of the ones that are in the database. I got them long before I discovered FBTS.

I am looking at selectseeds.com salvia blue Brazilian sage. I am a little confused with the flower color. The black and blue and black and bloom have a more indigo color. I like the blue they have in the first pic, but wonder if it's a trick of the light. If anyone is open to giving me an opinion it would be appreciated.

Salvia uliginosa is a true blue. That blue color is difficult to capture in digital photography.

That pic does it justice! Oh, thought of one. Argentine skies. I'm thinking it's a parrot beak kind, not sure of the parentage. There's also a native one, I have it. A pretty true light blue. I think they have it at AlmostEden and FBTS. Watch out for it, though, has a tendency to spread fast. I'll post pics when mine is blooming.

Eric, I'm glad to hear that! I plant now for the bees and butterflies. Not that I'm giving up my iris, roses and daylilies, I'm trying not to buy any more of them! I did weaken and bought 8 new daylilies. Twenty lashes with a wet noodle! Hilarious!

Marilyn said:I ordered today from Flowers By The Sea. Shipping May 10.

2 Cuphea x 'David Verity'
2 Salvia coccinea 'Lady in Red'
1 Salvia leucantha 'Midnight'
1 Salvia x 'Elk Crimson Spires'
1 Salvia 'Amistad'
1 Salvia BODACIOUS 'Rhythm and Blues'
1 Salvia x 'Wendy's Wish'
1 Salvia darcyi x splendens 'Roman Red'
1 Salvia VIBE 'Ignition Fuchsia'

I'm looking forward to growing 'Elk Crimson Spires' and VIBE 'Ignition Fuchsia' for the first time and seeing their flowers (color).

I really love the 'Roman Red' flowers and the color. I wanted to get 2 of them, but I was afraid it would confuse the shippers (with one free and one purchased). FBTS is offering 1 free of the 'Roman Red' salvias with each $100 purchase of plants (EXTENDED to April 15th). I couldn't get enough of the the 3 I grew last year. It's a must have in my garden every year just to see those gorgeous red flowers. https://www.fbts.com/

I'm growing BODACIOUS 'Rhythm and Blues' for the second time. I'm hoping it grows and blooms a lot better this time. I'm going to put it into a larger container by itself this time.

Salvia 'Midnight' is my husband's (and one of mine) favorite, so I make sure I get it and grow it every year.

I decided to get and grow 2 of the cuphea 'David Verity' this year. Being that they're hummingbird magnets, I wanted one on the patio, besides the one at the end of the driveway.

Usual 'must haves' are: 'Amistad', 'Lady in Red', 'Wendy's Wish'. Love those salvias, their flowers and attracting hummers.

Wanted to get more. Some like 'Wild Thing' and some others were out at the time I ordered (late). I usually order a lot earlier, but with my husband having more health problems (again) starting since Feb. 2, I couldn't. Maybe I can get another order in this year.

Stay safe everyone.

I decided to add a few plants to this order. Now shipping May 10.

1 Salvia greggii 'Lipstick'
2 Salvia microphylla 'San Carlos Festival'
1 Cuphea ignea

'Lipstick' wasn't ready to ship till May 10, so that became the new ship date. I've grown it before and love it.

I've grown 'San Carlos Festival' before and love it. In fact, I already have one in a container that overwintered and has leaves on it, so there will be more of this gorgeous beauty to love in my yard.

I decided to get Cuphea ignea, since Kermit (of FBTS) states; "...our variety of Firecracker Plant, which is identical to the plant sold as Vermillionaire® by Proven Winners®."

Wow, great list Marilyn! I like all of those! I decided to only add the two this year because I've spent so much on plants already! So just the Mystic Spires and the Amante this year. I've extended one of my beds, so I'm looking forward to adding more next year.
