I cropped and lightened these but can't remember which bird it is; a small Warbler type, flitting high in the oak trees.

They're on the birding lists for spring and fall migration here, but I've never seen one myself. Hopefully someday. Crossing Fingers! I've always thought they were quite pretty birds.

Thanks for the acorns! I hope they're still going to do some more raffles here so I can spend them on that. The past few days I've been spending some time going through my older photos to add more of them to the plant database whilst listening to some gardening podcasts. So I'm getting some acorns to hopefully spend that way also... although that's not my main motivation. I just think, "what else am I gonna do with all of these?" It's a good activity to do during miserable winter weather. Especially after I spent the morning trying to clear several inches of heavy icy slush from the driveway.

Blinking Clearing snow and ice isn't something I can imagine doing, even if I was young! Green Grin! We're still in shorts, tee shirts and flip flops here in my area, with temps in the upper 70's and low to mid 80's. At least the humidity hasn't been bad at all the past week or so. A front did make it's way south yesterday so today it was very breezy but a very pleasant 76º. Another front is supposed to come through tomorrow, with rain showers likely but temps are still supposed to be mid 70's tomorrow and then drop for Monday and Tuesday with temperatures those days predicted for upper 60's during the day and mid 40's to around 50 at night. Hurray! I wish it could stay like that year round!

I'm just loving all these wonderful bird shots, and the doggie too. Lovey dubby

I've been also enjoying the evenings in my garden, the birds and squirrels have been devouring the bird seed.

This big fat hawk was way up in my Turkey oak looking down on me, this is the best pic I could get of it.

Rose, Love the pic's, especially the Downy & Hairy WP's together in the same shot! Cute pup too!

Asa, wonderful shots as always, I especially love seeing birds in flight!! That Seagull looks like our resident Ring-billed Gulls.

Sherri, I love the shot of the Hawk looking down at you! The short tail feathers makes me think it might be a juvenile. Beautiful Cardinal shot too and I clearly see that Red-bellied WP!

Cici, that Great Kiskadee is a new one I'd never heard of so I had to google and read about it. Apparently it does reach areas of the southern part of Texas here in the U.S. It really is a pretty bird and it has neat sounding calls too!

My husband was outside working on the irrigation system and when I went out to ask him a question a few minutes ago, I spotted an Egret in the front yard so I got my camera in hopes of getting a few shots. I stood watching it awhile before it meandered off into a neighbors yard. I got sidetracked and completely forgot what it was that I originally went out to ask my husband. Smiling

Great Egret that walking around and looking into different shrubs, likely in search of a lizard to eat:

My usual woodpecker visitors yesterday. Seeing the size of the Red-bellied up close makes me want to get a double suet hanger for them, and makes the Downy look tiny in comparison.
