Love the luminatas, especially the dark one, though there are some dark ones being intro'd lately. Keppel has a dark BB I love, but he says it is too close to Dark Universe (I think having it in a shorter form would be great). I hope similar iris don't sway hybridizers away from introducing some of their own. I say this because some hybridizer's iris do better in some areas than others. Hypothetically Hybridizer Al and Hybridizer Dan could both introduce a yellow and white TB with red beards. Al's grows well on the west coast, PNW and the north but struggles to grow in the south and east. Dan's thrives in the humidity of the south and east. Yes, they may look very similar BUT only one can be grown well by part of the iris buying population. (Sorry for the ramble. Nothing is more frustrating than having an iris you love the looks of die at every attempt to grow it).

I have been looking at parentage of sooooo many different lined iris (our database is really cool the way it's set up to allow that) and 88-180P is the nexus!
You deserve a medal Joe

One of the latest from the Banded lines and one that I have been watching the past few years love the colors in it and the intense purple rim it would look awesome with many things I currently grow note the show stems and great branching.
A Hybridizer's goal should be to come up with unique colored plants something if you lost the tag for it would be easily identified when it bloomed this one fit's that description nothing else like it very beautiful colors on the falls when it 1st opens and look's like a blooming machine with all those stalks would like to see what the next generation brings in this pattern on the falls.
...
I may be getting greedy with the BB's or it could be a smaller TB this one gets the nod another fabulous creation from the Banded lines what really stood out to me was the bright yellow up the standards the way it blends with the other colors was Fun .. I think it may be an earlier blooming variety so something to start the season.

Like this one a lot. Nice color combination, and the beard sets it off so nice.
B.
Nice pink, looks to have nice strong stems and branching as well.
C.
This one goes to the front of the class! Love the interesting color blends and such nice form. Very unique.
D.
Interesting patterns, has the wash on the falls, plus the haft marks that I like to call the pansy pattern.
E.
Unique color in the pink spectrum. It should look nice in the garden.
F.
Nice purple plicata, a lot like others though. Is it a late bloomer? If so that would make it more desirable.
G.
Another very nice one. Is it a sibling to A?
H.
Love this one, nice dark purple topped, pinkish falls iris.
I.
Nice one, not sure if it's unique enough.
J.
Kind of like some others.
K.
I really like this one, and the bi colored beard is way cool.
L.
The beard makes this one.

This one is my favorite of the plicatas. Love all the things going on with the color blends in the standards, and the nice thin rim on the falls.
I will have to go back to work if I'm going to be buying all these nice ones coming down the pike.
