Beautiful bloom! It looks like Wax Plant (Hoya carnosa) ... fragrance is usually detected early to late evening and at night.

I couldn't wait to post these blooms. Only the second set of blooms on this Longifolia. It has lots of spurs but seems to drop buds... until now. Got this one from Lowe's two years ago.

At the risk of jinxing this little one, here is a peduncle with buds.

Yes it is, Lin. Started it as a cutting last summer. It might have been a little more energetic if I hadn't been treating it like a cactus. *Blush* Once I figured out it was thirsty and started watering more, it began growing again and almost immediately produced a peduncle. I'm so pleased I didn't kill it!

I purchased a few cuttings from Vermont Hoyas and this is the Bicknellii budding already. I don't take credit for the peduncle as it came with the cutting but the buds are all mine!

I've not smelled a lacunosa bloom, but this one smells so good! I wanted to sit beside it all evening last night, but it made me crave sweets (at least that's what I'm going to blame it on!!) Rolling on the floor laughing

Hoya lacunosa has a really nice, sweet fragrance. I think I read awhile back that Wax Plant (Hoya lacunosa) and Wax Plant (Hoya krohniana) are closely related. The blooms are very similar: H. lacunosa has very sweet fragrance.

Hoya obovata is an easy care one for me, it blooms two or three times a year. These are photos of the plant shortly after I rooted the cutting in May 2008 and and the plant today!

LOL Gina, it's in a ceramic planter with a metal trellis and I keep wrapping vines around vines and around the trellis. I wish I had a greenhouse or better yet, I wish I could plant them in the yard and allow them to do their own thing and climb the trees but I'm afraid my husband would end up butchering them with the string trimmer!!!

A few months ago I sowed some Moonflower (Ipomoea alba) seeds next to the fence and told him NOT to use the string trimmer in that area. The seedlings grew to where they reached the lowest rail of the fence and latched on and one day I noticed they were gone!!! Hubby didn't remember me telling him that I'd planted anything there. Sighing!

I sowed a few more seeds beneath a tree in an area where he doesn't use the string trimmer and they are sprouting but there's not enough sun in that particular part of the yard so I doubt that they'll get to the point of blooming.
