Pam,there is no way they could keep children "social distanced" from one another. My niece with a 4 and an 8 year old has to keep them isolated at home with no play dates with friends for the foreseeable future. What a horrible situation

I just heard that, I had no idea. I was an only child and that would have been the worst thing imaginable. Yes, horrible.

I have 3 children aged 8, 10 & 12. Not seeing their friends is hard on them but it's really not the end of the world for the short term. Has to be taken in the context of how serious the situation is.

All this news with restaurants, lack of supplies, this tightening of our choices caused me to have an anxiety attack. I had to drive out to get out of the house. Feeling better now though.

Hope you're ok! The problem is that some people can't be relied upon to make responsible decisions. Here, we were told that the food supply chain is good and that there's no need to panic buy. People went straight out to bulk buy and of course if lots of people do that at the same time then there are going to be empty shelves. We were asked to observe social distancing and not to go out in large groups. Last Friday night the pubs and restaurants were jam packed with people so the pubs and restaurants were forced to close. Social distancing doesn't work unless people are fully compliant and if they're not the government has to step in to make sure people comply. Otherwise healthcare systems will collapse under the pressure of huge numbers of very sick people that will need care at the same time while still trying to maintain care for other very sick people that don't have Covid - 19. It's extremely worrying.

I told the teenage grandchildren they have a front row seat to a major world event. Their children will be reading about this in their history books.

Thank heavens we have a good produce market that is fairly close. They are fully stocked and not overly busy. They've leased a former grocery store so it's really big. I'm planning to hit it weekly to keep our stock of veggies current. We eat a lot of veggies. My freezer is full of meat so we are set!

I eat a lot of veggies too (as a vegetarian LOL) but my husband eats meat...and I only buy it every few days. We are going to do some meatless meals next week...Huevos Rancheros, Gnocchi pesto, and I always have tempeh, tofu and Beyond Burgers in the fridge

Grumbling Ok went to the gym, went to pubix up by the gym, worse than our publix. I was so hot and went thru and got some fires and a big beautiful cold drink. Pulled out the straw and forgot...it was a big ole paper straw, to hell with everything.

Pam, why are you still going to the gym!!!!!???? That's pretty risky. Four UF students tested positive for the virus, it was on TV 20 last night. And we know someone personally who is under quarantine along with his wife....he has been very sick for several days but in lieu of testing them they had a Skype appt with a doctor and they are quarantines! Stay home girl!!

That is what happened here, I saw the Skype doc. I am to stay isolated through 4/1. If I start to have trouble breathing I am to call the ER and say I spoke with the Skype doc and they will have my records and be ready for me. So far I am still breathing......

As bad as I feel, coughing, sneezing and feverish, I can only advise you to stay away from gyms, this is not a nice illness. Do I have Covid 19? Who knows without a test but since the treatment is the same what difference does it make. - as long as I isolate myself and not spread it around.

I am about out of Tylenol but my sweet pharmacist is hand delivering her last bottle to us later today. This is an independent compounding pharmacy and they do nice things like that.

Alice so sorry to hear you're that sick, you're doing the right thing, stay safe, rest and keep us posted how you're doing. Group hug

The wedding/catering company my son works for has lost all the parties and weddings after the DEP said no gatherings more than 10. He has one small wedding this weekend but everyone else canceled, so for now he's on furlough. My DIL is temporary on leave because she travels and does conventions and all that is on hold, so their income in half right now. I am glad to hear that there will be checks going out to help these people that are losing money due to this virus. Hope this does go through the senate, many are suffering financially over this.

I have now heard of two local people that have tested positive for the virus through friends and family that know them, and a third that is sick and has been tested, awaiting results. Two are young maybe mid 20-30's, one is over 60. My DIL's sister is friends with one of the positive cases and she is now on self quarantine, so far she's showed no symptoms, they won't test her unless she shows symptoms.

I'm really surprised gyms are even staying open Blinking

Alice I hope you feel better soon! I am surprised they are open too. Their 'compromise' is no more than 50 people in the gym at any time. SO? They are still touching everything.
This was my 'social distancing' today...5 mile walk

So our neighbor and his wife are self quarantined. Because he spent the day with a pal who had spent the previous day with another pal who had dental work done at the UF Dental Clinic by a dental student who tested positive, and the patient pal also tested positive.
Grrrrrrrrrrr
My neighbors are both almost 80 but a young late 70's....he has had a heart attack before. I am sure they are scared.
