Wow Song, If only I had all the space and light you have!
Yes, I have some succulents in my apt. all crammed on the windowsills. Problem is all windows kinda face north. Which is good in a way, plants don't get burnt.
I would post pics, but on this site pictures need to be uploaded directly from computer. And as I am online mainly from work... my pics are at home.
With online album links...not much fun, is it?
But I think I should take pics with all my succulents and have them "recorded" in a list.
Maybe it's a project for this weekend???

Kristi, it's Manfreda 'Macho Mocha'. One of my plants bloomed this summer so being monocarpic, the plant is now dying but producing new pups at the base. Thanks for pointing out the link to fix's pictures. Duh.

Fixpix, I finally saw the link. I overlooked it until Kristi pointed it out. Album links are good too. I particularly enjoyed your beautiful lilies and hibiscuses shots. I love both those plants. Definitely take pictures of your windowsill cacti and put them in the album so we can see them. What is the weather like in Romania now?

I may have failed somewhat at my attempt not to have but a few succulents here. Hilarious!

The bloom is very similar to the M. virginica. Was yours fragrant?

I've read this one is monocarpic also but it has bloomed for a few years but never pupped and never died so I wonder.Thumb of 2012-10-26/pod/9f5588

Tee ~ I also meant to ask... on your earlier photo #15, there is a plant in a woven basket sitting on the floor in front of the bushel basket full of pine cones.

It resembles the Euphorbia that I abuse so badly. Can you tell me what yours is?

FixPix ~ I also would love to see a link to your succulents when you get a chance to assemble the photos.

You know what ... I was told it was moncarpic but this is the first time for it to bloom so I honestly don't know for certain. I will know soon. It does tend to sort of die down in the winter just a bit so that may be what's happening. But it is still putting out the pups. If they do well, I will send you a pup one of these days. It is fragrant and they are supposed to be hummingbird magnets. :)

The plant you asked about above is Euphorbia tirucalli.

Who is the sweet kitty?

I never saw a hummer around the blooms but I sure was... I loved the fragrance in the evenings. Mine also dies down totally outdoors in winter. Do you leave yours outside year around? Perhaps when you have a spare pup, I can swap you a couple of different Stapelaids in exchange.

Thank you for the Euphorbia ID. I will research it further but at a glance, I think that is what mine is also.

The kitty photo is 'shy' Daryl. We found him and his other brother 'worried' Daryl (aka sleeps with dogs) back in June and brought them home to the woods with the other five cats that live here. Think I'm a glutton for punishment? lol

I finally brought the Giant Stapelia inside today. It will be in the 30s at night most of this week with temps at or below freezing ... and it has rained ... so time to keep it drier and warmer for the winter. Thumbs up

That's a cool Manfreda.
But I must say I'd rather have the plant (nice reddish tint) than that long, long stalk with let's say not that ornamental blooms. But it all changes if it's fragrant.
I'm not a perfume, cologne etc fan, so I tried to find substitutes in nature :)

Sorry, Sat. I was out in the garden all day, ans Sun. it rained all day, cold, gloomy and just didn't get the energy to take pics.

But I WILL!

LOL, pix. It's a plant only a mother could love? Some of the succulents are just so weird, I agree. And I also agree that fragrance makes a difference.

Looking forward to your photos. Green Grin!

LOL - thanks, Tee - those flowers on your S. gigantea got me right on e-bay ... I probably should have asked if there's anything you'd like to trade for a chunk first, duh. Anything you are looking for?

Kristi, your sansevieria that you swapped with me is gorgeous, thanks so much. I hope the one I sent you is thriving for you.

Yes and they are beautiful. I just moved them in for the winter months ~ thank you and your welcome. lol

Did you buy a Stapelia gigantea online already? Cause I'd have sure shared and I think Louise has some to spare also. The thread "Stapelia gigantia trimmings for postage" in Cactus and Succulents forum

I am envious now that you are in AZ. I've seen many that grow the Stapelias in ground there. Wish I'd had this passion when we lived there. I'd have been a succulent shopping fool.

Yeah - my fingers are quicker than my brain sometimes. No biggie.

Yeah, the other Stapelia with identical blooms but maroon coloration were in bloom last week at the Desert Botanical Garden - probably about 20 of them at one time, it was an impressive sight. All in the ground, but still kind of protected. You can tell they have completely outgrown their original position and are now cuddling up to other succulents, lol.

Very glad to hear the sans are doing good for you, that's great.

Now, ya'll should start drawing up lists - the Cactus and Succulent Society here has outstanding entries and a wonderful plant sale each spring, I'd be willing to be a personal shopper if there's something special that is difficult to find.

You enabler... how fun to be a professional plant shopper. Do they have a list of plants that will be available at their plant sale? Guess I need to see if they have a website.

OK,
Here's a few.
Pics are either dark or blurry. When I got home, 5 pm, it was already getting dark, and also taking pics facing the windows didn't help much.
I also got some other succulents at my parents' house in the yard where they enjoyed all the sun.

And a bunch of others...

To the far left you can see my huge Pitahaya plant. I brought it over from Taiwan and it just grew, and grew slimmer cause of the lack of sun. It's 7 years old!
And kinda looks bad now with all those roots. Next spring I plan to trim it hard and take it to my parents yard in the sun.

Cool succulent collection Fixpix ~ amazing that you have started so many from seed.

Tell me, are those drimia bulbs in the front tray in your first photo?

Thank you all!
I enjoy germinating seeds... well, not so much when no green shows up!
But since most stuff is from abroad, it's a lot cheaper to try seeds and also... there's customs regulations, etc.
Not here. I think I can get away with small plants in envelopes but there's always a risk.
Yes Hetty... But I'll be old by then. I moved them to those let's say bigger pots late in summer and I can tell they feel much better.
Kristi, nope, those would be orchids. Lady slipper ones.
