There is a woman down the road from us here that has the largest madagascar palm that I have ever seen in person in her front yard. I was walking Ace dog one day and the woman was outside. She smiled at me and waved at Ace, so I took the opportunity to tell her that I loved her madagascar palm and asked her if she knew how old it was. She looked around confused and then pointed and said, "that spiky thing? Is that what it's called? I wanted to rip it up when we moved in, but my husband liked it for some reason"

I just kind of chuckled, said have a great day, and walked on while thinking to myself that I would kill for that plant.
