How tall is 18-73E ? I actually prefer shorter iris. Less chance that the stalks will lean or fall over. But most people probably prefer tall iris.

strong stalks are a necessary trait in tall bearded iris breading.

Harvest of Memories can bend after some late spring rains. When I first saw that, I couldn't believe my eyes! Now I wish I took a picture.

Instead, I cut the flowers and brought them inside and put them in a vase....and THEN took the picture!

I did not measure the height of the seedling 18-73E, but visually it does not rise much above the foliage. I'll measure it next season. This season, the seedlings from "Smart Money" and the seedlings from luminat had short stems.



Do we have this season was a huge storm with hail and in the middle of flowering everything was destroyed. It was a depressing sight.





Many of the tall stems of the 18-73 group bent, but were not broken.

Serjio, I'm not a fan of pink iris, but this one does have a lot of pretty ruffles, with a beard color that complements the pink nicely.

I've said this before a number of times but I remember in the 70's when markings on the hafts was considered a real fault. We wanted selfs with clean hafts. Things have certainly changes.

I am very glad that you all also liked this pink seedling. I will watch him closely in the years to come.
