The wall color shows tan but it's actually a nice warm golden yellow so those sunflowers really look good against the walls.

It looks beautiful there. I would definitely invest in matting and framing. I just finished a counted cross-stitch and it cost $180. And that was at 55% off at Michaels!! But it did turn out beautiful and was worth the investment.

I have an idea that might work for that larger space. You can't mat a stretched canvas, you have to build a flat box frame and cover it to serve as a 'mat' than add a frame to the outer edges of that. So unless you know exactly what to do, it shouldn't be done.

Oh BUT . . . here's my other idea that could be a possibility. Hang the painting where you want it. Find a wide frame that has a much bigger opening than the painting is, and is flush against the wall. Center the frame over the painting and hang it around it, the wall color will show in the space around the painting and will serve to look like a 'mat' for the painting.

Might work. And would take up some of that extra space.

The painting is really beautiful. Love it.

I like your idea Sharon, I have seen that done and it's really a nice -fool-the-eye trick, I may do that.

It might also go into my future sewing/guest room as I have blues and yellows planned as decor in there, it would become the focal point over the bed. As long as my daughter and her family are still living here, everything is unsettled with many things still in storage.
