I'm back. I realize what takes a long time for a short job is distraction with weeding

Finally I have gone through all my hellebore photos for the season. Smiling

These were all planted a year ago. I'm surprised by how quickly some of these cultivars have grown. My older plants don't grow at this speed at all. I'm however still experiencing Botrytis problems with some of these. They have had it from the start, right from unboxing last year. Never had this problems with Hellebore's before.

The individuals plants:

And to finish some multi plant shots:

William, your plants are fantastic especially for 1 year ! I love how you say , Anna's Red was planted too dark. I guess in Sweden, you need to look for some sun. I think I will use that expression. I must add that cultivar to my garden. ( Name's sake)
Jo Ann, you crack me up! How true that those "weeds" are distractors. Glad you remembered to share your pics. So pretty!

Thank you for the nice compliments! Very happy you enjoyed viewing the hellebores. Smiling

Anna, looking for sun is a favorite past time for many in Sweden, not just for plants. Hilarious!
Your namesake hellebore has some interesting blood in its veins and I'll bet it will make a fine addition to your Texas garden. I think there are some sun and heat loving species involved, yet I so far haven't seen it suggested to plant it in a more sunny and warm location such as with the ericsmithii and nigercors hybrids. This intrigues me as there still is so little information about the newer wide cross hybrids.

Really beautiful Hellebores William and Jo Ann!!! Jo Ann, it looks as if you have some planted in sun. I thought they were strictly a shade plant. Looks as though they do pretty well in the sun. Thumbs up

Cindy, that was a part shade area. Diseased tree came down. Many of my hellebores get part sun.

Really??? Wow, good to know. Years ago every time I bought Lavender the tag said to put it in full shade. They never did well for me. My sister told me to try them in sun because hers thrived in sun and that did the trick. Can't always go by what you are told I guess.

Cindy. The labels are always right.
Lavender is native to France where it grows in chalky fields in bright sun.

Cindy I find most shade plants do well in the sun in the northern zones

You are probably right because the sun is not as intense in the north. Thank You!
