We got more rain yesterday, so I'd guess about 3.5' total for the whole rain thing. I'll take that for a down payment on what Mama Natures owes my area! Parts of the soil still dry, believe it or not. A bit of light mist and short spurts of drizzle today made it difficult to get anything done outside today. I separated out some Standing Cypress seedlings that I got at the FOF Saturday and planted part of them, repotted the rest. Still another pot of those seedlings left. Poor S. A., all that flooding, 3 dead, some families flooded out, tons of rescues, not even to mention the accidents...I saw a couple of those. I don't envy S. A.'s latest rain at all for all those reasons, so glad I moved out here!

We're in a flash flood watch for today. Lots of gray heavy clouds but only a sneeze so far. We'll see if anything comes of it! Lakes need the rain badly!

Rain is spotty in Houston. We got some hard rain here for about 5 mins at the hospital but none at home 45 mins up north.

Apparently we got a good rain at home. I am relieved! I won't get home til Tuesday to check out what plants got hurt from the 90* heat this week. But I am hopeful now.

Thanks Bubbles. DH is progressing, slowly but progressing at least. I hurts t mehat my garden comes second to things in life. At the same, time if something dies in my yard and leaves me I will be able replace it. Not as easy with a DH. Smiling

Cheryl, I know about living with the illness of a spouse. It just kills my soul a bit every day. DH never gets really truly well.
We don't usually get large amounts of rain, but the relatively frequent showers or drizzle are doing some good, things have greened up and since there's a doe coming to the wildlife feeding area, I'm especially glad for her. And I promised myself I'll never complain again about precipitation, so yesterday when in town I didn't, even though I kept getting wet.

Sneaked downstairs at 6:30 to water. The backyard was soaked! I don't know what to do now, read the paper or clean the house? Another band of rain rolling thru, then hot, hot this afternoon. Hope the rest of central TX got rain too.

Sandi, that's great that you got some rain. I say read the paper, that's what I usually do in the morning. Green Grin!

I do that too, Margaret. But lately, I read it on my iPad. I can zip through it, because the TV usually has the same info as what I'm reading at the same time. I decided to spread some Epsom Salts on all the pots out back while everything is still wet. Looks like we got quite a bit of rain in such a short time!
I just came in to get my camera, not clean the house!!! Whistling

That storm system just by passed us. We got sprinkles on the outskirts of town along the freeway then it took a dive south. That may be a good thing because I heard power's out and there is flooding where it hit .

No rain here, but I'm glad you two got some! I actually had to water some plants lately! It's the heat and humidity that drives me to stay inside in the afternoon now.

The evening rain that was predicted stopped right along a line above us on the map. I'm grateful for the morning rain, tho. I did find a cereus bud hiding by the rain tank this morning about 11.

And then tonight at 9
Thumb of 2013-06-19/Bubbles/66dd7c

And 10:30

I'd go back out, but I'm afraid a slither-kadee might be waiting for me.
