This is so very neato! I am just dying to know--is it a bubble or a droplet and how in the world did you do it???

I asked him that in a private message. He said it was a special spherical lens. Cool!

I have a friend that has a lens like that, he had fun with it creating some very cool looking shots!

I sure wish I could capture a water droplet photo like that.
So the confession is that it is an actual lens ball. Which, is a hardened and polished crystal. Used in the correct light and setting it will yield some great photos.

Thanks for the link Stan. Yes, it was me that thought it was a water droplet, and I'll say it again, marvelous photo and I'm so gonna have to try this. I ordered my son another photograpy nut, like his mom, a lens ball for Christmas, his wife says he'll love it, but she might have to play around with it first .

I thought your picture was really neat and interesting!! And so I had to get myself a Christmas present, it came yesterday already!! I am looking forwards to playing with it! I was amazed how sturdy and heavy the lens/glass ball is.

I tried today! Mind you I am not a good photographer, I usually just take pictures mostly for documentation. This was/is really fun!
