I have to say right away that I wish I had 100 Delbard roses, but these are the very roses that nurseries only pretend to have. I have ordered countless Delbard roses that were supposed to be available at Hortico and Ashdown, but they never were really available.

Altissimo is one of the most common Delbard roses. It's a 1966 large-flowered climber.

I acquired Black Beauty, a 1973 hybrid tea, completely by accident. I ordered Abracadabra from Moore's and watched it slowly lose its stripes. It ultimately reverted to this, which is Black Beauty. I think it's even prettier than Abracadabra.

Edited to say this picture really doesn't belong here because it's not a Delbard rose, but it's so pretty that I'll leave it here.

Gingersnap is a 1978 floribunda and it's exceptionally difficult to photograph. The color seems to shock my camera. I have taken at least 50 blurry photos that had to be discarded.

I never realized GINGERSNAP is a Delbard rose. I have three Gingersnaps and I love this rose. The color is increabable and yes, it is very difficult to photograph.

Last fall I added two of Camille Pissarro. That one is really difficult to get ahold of. I just think that the blooms are increadibly beautiful. Have another of the striped Delbards also that I planted last year when I was on my quest to add stripes to the rose garden.

We'll look forward to seeing your Delbard photos on this thread, Rita.

This is one that I really want -- Summer Sunset, aka France Libre. Hortico pretends they have it, but they never send it.

I didn't know that my Gingersnap was a Delbard! Here's my first picture of my Gingersnap.. June 08 right after I put it in the ground (actually, I think I put it in the ground in May.. but I could be mistaken).

One of my three GINGERSNAPS is in really poor shape after the winter this year. I had to cut it right to the ground with all the dead branches. I hope that it has life underground and will send up new growth. This doesn't usually happen to me were roses die back to the ground but there has been more winter damage showing on the roses this spring than I have ever had before.

Camille Pissarro is one of the roses I adore at the San Jose Heritage Rose Garden every time I see it, very healthy bush and the blooms are stunning, I always take tons of pictures of it. When I get a bigger garden, it's one I will add. It can be so many different shades depending on the weather.
