Beautiful shots, always nice to get a twofer photo
Congrats on the beautiful top photos in the contest too.
I've been seeing some butterflies here, it is warmer this month than it was last month, got some pictures on my camera, just haven't downloaded them yet. My garden is full of blooms, hummer is happy.
After the low temperatures the other night, I didn't hold out much hope for any more butterfly photos. Imagine my delight when my morning walk provided these queens on the Texas asters:
A sulphur was making use of the last of the salvia greggii blooms.
And the Gregg's mist and white mist flowers continue to attract visitors.
To see butterflies in the middle of December is, for me, a Christmas miracle!
Wow, flowers AND butterflies in December! I'm always surprised at how different the climate is in Texas — our neighboring state, yet a world apart. Beautiful photos, Char.
I saw what I'm pretty sure was a Monarch on the remaining blooms of the Turk's Cap in the front yard yesterday. He flew away just as I went from the window to the door to get a closer look. Sigh. I guess it's possible it could have been a Fritillary, but from inside my livingroom vantage point, I'm pretty certain it had black in all the right places and was a Monarch.
This will probably be the last butterfly posting until spring. Like @sunkissed, we've had unseasonably warm temperatures. However, the 29 degrees predicted for this weekend will bring that to an end.
Thank you for the beautiful exceptional pictures Char! Wishing you a happy and healthy new year as well.
I am a strong believer in the simple fact is that what matters in this life is how we treat others. I think that's what living is all about. Not what I've done in my life but how I've treated others. ~~ Sharon Brown
