Yes, that is what I ended up doing. It was just a coincidence that I found him at the end of spring. I did add all summer and got a few weekly specials. I was very happy about that. He did do a lot of adjusting, I really don't know how he keeps up with it all. But when it arrived my order was perfect, not one detail was missed. Whoa!!

After David Kirchhoff moved to Kentucky, I sent him multiple fans of plants he had failed to take with him. That was Oct. 10. Within 3 weeks all my plants I had divided had died because it was so unexpectedly hot that year. I lost every one! Since then I will not schedule fall delivery in advance.

This year was the exception. I started dividing plants by the second week in October and finished by the second week in November. The weather was wonderful! But who could know? This year was the exception rather than the rule. Usually I start dividing the first or second week in Nov. and finish sometime in late Dec. or early January. All depends on the weather, but that timing really limits any new purchases.

As for Bill Maryott, I don't order from him any more because I need so few plants! I grow in 6 boxes and have downsized from 125 plants to the current 82. The current size gives daylilies room to grow and flourish. I order from growers here in FL when I know what the weather holds for us. They don't impress their buyers with lots of extra plants, but the plants do come when requested and are healthy. I'm happy with that!

Bill Maryott has just done something different, which I love. Yesterday he posted on his home page a picture of a seedling that was blooming yesterday in his greenhouse rather than one of his new introductions. And it's a beauty!

Love that little seedling! Love that he has evaluated his daylilies for dormancy. He said that a lot are misregistered. I love his daylilies, they are always big and healthy!

That is a nice seedling for sure!!!

Almost too good to pass up!! But I really must, I am wearing myself out.

I already have a nice order in with him and I love my order, not too sure of the June shipping. Might have to pot them up and leave them in the shade till fall. That means probably no flowers till next year but it is the only way they will survive the summer without watering everyday and that is not happening this year!!

Susan, I always pot up my plants from Maryott's each June and put them in the shade -- and almost half of them still bloom in the pots a few weeks later! And the when they bloom I take the pots wherever I want to get pictures... love it!

All three of these are really great in my garden. Mississippi Memories has one of my biggest "near white" blooms and I always like it. The other two are really great bloomers, too.

Thanks Mona, I was thinking MM was yellow, I might use it as a white in the corner garden. I actually have two so that will workout well.

I got a nice daylily from Maryott's last fall and it is called ANNABELL'S BLUSH. When Marilyn Maryott mailed me my shipping confirmation she said it was named after her grandmother and that just made it all the more special. I love the pink ones. Then as a bonus Bill included COMING ALIVE this is the most beautiful red that I have at this point.
