What kind of glue did you use for those beads? You should try JB Weld next time they fall off. Ask your DH if he has some.
Not only people give others signs, but plants do too.

Ian, I use GE ll clear silicone adhesive for basements, attics, and is weather proof. It works pretty good. Not sure but this person could have used a hot glue gun, but I don't know.

Back when I was young and stupid, I hot glued shells on to a mirror frame. It went fast and was beautiful! It hung on the wall inside the house for 3 years. The 4th year I heard noises and the shells were popping off all over the mirror. Every shell popped off. That stuff just doesn't hold up for long.

Karen do you still have it that you can take a picture of it and show us?

I have been working on garden decoration repair today. Here is a stepping stone that I bought with the Iowa Hawkeye logo on it and was going to paint the black that was coming off but as I was cleaning it prior to painting, the logo started peeling off too. I think I will just paint over the whole thing and see if I can put another picture on it. I am not much of a painter so we will see what happens.

My 2 BFF's gave me this sign that says "Gardeners spend all day in their beds". I painted a board white and put the sign on it and hung it outside. It lasted a couple years before the paint started to peel off. The problem is, I think, is that I did not primer the board first and then I did not seal it after. So DH got me a new board but this time, I am going to spray paint the sign because it is rusting and it will show up better on an unpainted board.

A while back I painted this red Cardinal that was the top to a bird house that had broken. I found a few items to repurpose and use to hang the Cardinal. I just got done working on it and am pretty pleased with it.

I had a dragonfly solar mobile that broke so I kept the dragonfly from it and decided to add them under the Cardinal.

Here is a picture of the 4 glass flowers that I fixed. Two needed the spoon put on the back to hang them on my fence and the other 2 needed their center piece glued back on.

Very nice totems and shell flowers, Jeanne! I did some totems years ago, but it was back in the days of film, so I don't have photos.

This is the shell mirror as it was made the second time.

Thank you Karen and Vic. I agree with Vic, Your mirror is beautiful, Karen. Lovey dubby

DH said he thought the metal sign looked good as it was without painting it so here it is on the board ready to be put up on my garden shed in the spring. The only problem is the knot in the wood makes it hard to read "their".

At some garage sale a long time ago I bought 2 of these figures. One was a girl and one was a boy. Their body parts move when the wind blows. I first fixed them with wire but then the wire rusted and they came apart again. So now I fixed them with baling twine that should last several years. I finished the girl and only have the bottom half of the boy so I will have to locate his top half where ever it is. Shrug!

Thanks for the :acorn:, Vic! It's much appreciated. All of those shells and seaglass were found when I lived in the Marshall Islands. I beachcombed and went scuba diving daily, and shells and glass were my favorites. Lovey dubby

Karen, I would have loved that time that you spent in the Marshall Islands. Out side of the US, the only place I have been is Ireland. That was a great vacation and would love to go back but not wanting to fly that long again.

Jeanne - I don't think the knot is an issue. Love the little girl and can't wait to see the little boy.

Karen - What a beautiful place to be. How long did you live there?

We were there 12 years. We've lived a lot of places before and after that, but it's still our favorite place. It was a small island, so we rode bikes everywhere. Our groceries were delivered. The money earned there was tax free. It was an extraordinary place for growing plants. All of the outdoors was just like a greenhouse with plenty of water and humidity and warmth.
