Perennial in zone 5, northeastern Indiana.

Blooming here by early May.

Plant flops and sprawls a bit in part-shade.

Approximately 18 - 22 inches tall before flopping over.

Recurrent blooms; slowing during the hottest part of summer.

Possibly nemorosa?

Looks like it to me too! I was going to say 'Blue Hill', which I have, but I don't know if it's blue or not. Mine flops too and then I cut the faded flowers back and then get another good showing of blooms.

Thanks, Marilyn.

It doesn't strike me as an *all the time* blue flowered variety. From what I've been able to find, it looks most like 'May Night'. Viewed from any kind of distance, the bloom stalks appear dark violet.

I think I'll just add it to the entry as Violet Sage (Salvia nemorosa). Thumbs up
