I knew instantly when his banners popped up that it was one of Leon's! I loved how he made a collage of them, they were so beautiful!
He will be missed.

Leon's Family: Leon reached out to me once and encouraged me and I just really remember it left me feeling so much better that day. And he shared one of those wise tidbits you just hold onto.
Rumor has it that the colors of the flowers in Heaven are So much more vivid. I bet he is Awe Stricken. May the Lord comfort you all and hold you close

Dear Leon,

You were always so kind, encouraging, positive, and re-assuring.
You inspired us. You were living 1 Corinthians 13:4~6.

I know all of us would have been blessed to be you neighbor, sharing good times,
seeds & bulbs, watching our kids play together & grow up to start their
own families.

I never cared for marigolds until I saw your banner for Dec 2, 2019,
but they will always be part of our garden from now on,



And we started growing trumpet lilies after seeing your beauties....


They will always remind me of you, my friend.

The beauty of Leon's garden was surpassed only by the beauty of the man. He will be sorely missed, not least by his friends on the Iris Forum.

I am so sorry about Leon's passing. The butterfly banner now showing sure is a credit to him and I know the iris forum is feeling his loss especially. 😥

The sadness of a good soul having "left us"....but then, having "left us" with fond thoughts, poetic words and inspirations. Like Leon's diary, we can always find them here, and they may even mean more now. My condolences to the family for their immeasurable losses.

I am so sorry to learn of Leon's passing. I never had contact with him like so many others, but was continually inspired by his beautiful pictures and banners. It would seem from all the tributes to him that he was as a beautiful soul as were his gardens and the flowers he grew that were beautiful to see and be inspired by.
