Sometimes the scab would heal once the plumeria is slowly introduced back to warmer location where it gets direct sun. Try also dabbing hydrogen peroxide in case there is fungus. Be careful the h202 does not come in contact with your skin. Also,Watch closely if that seemingly black spot spreads then you might have to cut it.

I have too many so I haven't really paid that close attention to mine. *Blush*

That's what I was looking at was the dark area and the wrinkles where the branches meet. I looks like rot to me. The black pot is not a problem. It's actually the best thing for rooting purposes. You want as much heat as possible during this time. I know you say that it's bone dry in a week, but may want to cut back on watering so much as well.

Not the best photo but gets the point across. They seem to be doing great though. It's funny to see how different they are in size and shape despite similar types and ages. Smiling

They look great. If you start up potting them, they will grow very fast. Here's 3 of my 1 year old seedlings.

Yes I agree and that's how I started my forest! I've given a lot away already so now I just have a manageable amount. I lost a few last year too.

Currently I've only repotted once I see roots and then it's a nice new pot for all the seedlings. I've been loving watching them grow. So funny thing, all my seedlings have typical roots that spread all over but two. The two are from the same parent plant type and their roots start from the main trunk spread at the top and shoot straight down at the edge of the pots. It's fascinating. I'm loving it.

This one is doing great but that cavity where I cut it is still there and it's been very rainy lately. Anything I can do to keep it dry?

I typically cut at a slant to avoid this. I do know some that put brown silicone inside the holes. Make sure it is 100% silicone.

I tried to cut at a slant but when I cut it, it was so tough this was all I could do. I'll see what I can do with silicone. Thank you. Smiling

I use this on mine. I let the top dry for a week first after cutting and then apply this wood glue:

Think this will work? I also have just normal white Elmer's glue.

Yes, I've used that on some of my plumerias. Sanitize the cavities with alcohol or hydrogen peroxide first. Then add the wood glue.

The cavity was really deep and it's possible it may still have had moisture in it when I put the glue in. Or the moisture got in after I added the glue and couldn't get out. Either way, there's a dark soft spot at the top.
I know the next step is to cut it again but any ideas exactly where. I plan to pin test but from the looks it will have to be below one if not both new branches.

It is probably best to slice from the top and see how far the brown part goes. Yes, it needs to be totally dry/calloused before you seal with glue.
