No Sylvia I didn't get to the RU. I was recovering from surgery. But I hope to go next year if there's one closer to me.

What ferns are you going to include?

Take it out now. Mine is in a pot and is doing well. It's not on the list.

My Fire Islands have not done well in the ground either. I lost one this year, and the other is only about an inch tall. I don't know whether to bother potting it or just look for another one.

It seems to be a slug magnet. Mine got eaten to the ground before I even knew it sprouted. I dug it up and it came back this year and is doing well. It probably does not take heat very well, but I have mine on the patio and so far so good, at least I got a picture. I would not buy another though.

I probably will, but I dunno. Seems to me that, once they start dwindling like that, they don't really ever recover. I lost a lot of hostas that I liked better than that one. I think next fall some are going in the refrigerator for the winter.

I'm looking for a few that I have seen do well in our climate, for some friends' house. They're not gardeners, so they don't need the latest-and-greatest that we hosta folks drool over. I just want something that will add some pretty foliage to their shade garden. My Gold Standard is pretty big, and of course undulata albomarginata. Sagae. Stained Glass. All the Tiaras. Any other suggestions?

There are quite a few more on this list. I tip my hat to you.

http://www.plantdelights.com/H...

I have a few that are not on the list for low chill but have done well over the past couple of years like Paradigm, Paul's Glory and Captain Kirk.
Hope this helps!
