Sylvia, is this the same grower you used a few years ago? Any chance of adding Emerald Tiara to the list?

Sylvia, I'd like to edit my selections on the spreadsheet, but it won't let me change anything. Any tips?

Sylvia,

I'm afraid I'm going to have to cancel my order for your Hosta co-op. I hate doing that, but life is unpredictable. I am unable to change anything on the spreadsheet, so I'll have to leave that up to you. I'm sorry to cause any problems and I hope the co-op goes very well for you.

I have added the three new hostas to the spreadsheet, but Sylvia, I can't copy the formatting on the top row. It all works and all the formulas are updated, but it doesn't look as pretty. I will have to see about adding the pictures later.

I see the same names as before can we spread tthe word? I need hosta too, I lost all my Hosta two years ago using some bad Cypress mulch. I also lost five Japanese Maples. Today I discovered my six foot Maple id dead too. Ordered the five from Oregon for 20 bucks a piece, Bloodgood was one of them, I will never find a sale like that again. sob! Maybe they dont do well in Dallas? Patti have you tried to grow them? Its so depressing!
Anyway spread the word. Send me email addy and I will sen the spred sheet. you can do that too. Sticking tongue out

Sylvia, I got my first Japanese maple last year from Sue Taynor. It was about 18 inches tall and so far this year, it's about 26 inches tall. Still in a pot till I figure out where to put it, but doing fine. Don't have any other personal experience but my parents have a big one that's been doing great for 20 years.

It may not have been bad mulch. Between last summer and now, looks like I completely lost about 1/2 to 2/3 of my hostas, and I don't mulch them at all during the winter. I'm still sick that I lost my 8-year-old Red Octobers that circled my tree. Sad Most of the surviving ones dwindled in size. My big, big Sagae has only TWO eyes coming up. Same with Elvis Lives and Guacamole. We had that really tough summer in 2011, and they all survived that, but they need chill hours to recover, and we haven't had that for 2 years now. I only have a few that are still looking good. Even one of my undulatas is struggling. I didn't think anything would hurt those.

I have not had that chill factor either. I am very worried that mine will not come up this year. They were already weak last year and did not do well with the heat. I need to add more with a low chill factor, I think Sylvia has a couple of them. This is a good article from PlantsDelight's Thumbs up

I don't know which is worse... having them not come up at all, or having your big ones come up half the size. Sad
