Zoia, I have always admired your Laughing Child. The database lists it as 22". I don't usually buy that short of a plant, but I like Wild's plants. Do you find its bud count satisfactory?

It's hard to say. It's in a pretty shady place, under a mature oak tree. I think if it was somewhere sunnier, the bud count would be better. It does seem to pop out one flower at a time for a long period though. It's been blooming for over a month now. Every now and then it will pop out two 🥳

Solaris Farms: Fire Fountain. Bremer. 2011. Dormant. 60"-8.5". 5 branches. 23 buds. ML. Extremely tall bright red with wide yellow throat, great branching and stout scapes. We seldom have much of this one due to constant sales. ((Ravenous x Springfield Clan) x B.J. McMillen).

2020 Notes: Planted 12 months ago. Last year I planted 49 new daylilies. Of the 49, Fire Fountain is one of the most vigorous. I purchased it from directly (mail order) from the breeder, Nate Bremer (Solaris Farms). It was a very large 2 fan root ball. After a year in the ground, it is 54 inches tall, scapes are thick at 1/3 inch diameter and flowers are 9 inches wide. One outstanding specimen. 2021 notes: Some of the scapes splay, has a long booming time. Last bloom in late August.

Indian Ripple is almost always my last to bloom. This year was no exception, except it was much later then normal. Its last bloom was 2 days ago:

LFO for Lemonn Vista. This may be my last bloom of all this summer. Last season I had blooms into September, but it's been a funny year. I think we're done unless South Seas decides to send up one more scape.
