They're like great big crepe paper roses, Sue. Be sure to get peony trees. The herbaceous ones don't bloom reliably in our zone.

Who around here carries them?

I bought mine at Bassignani's years ago. I don't know whether they still carry them. I think Harmony or King's might have them. It's worth a call to find out. I wonder if Polo has them at Sonoma Hort.

Do gophers like them? LOL
Friday a good shopping day for you?

Any day's a good shopping day for me, Sue. I'm shopping with Barbara tomorrow. Daeana's coming to clean on Friday, but she'll get here at noon and as soon as I let her into the house, I'll be free as a bird.

I've had peony trees and herbaceous peonies as long as I've lived here and no gopher has ever gone near them.

I can hear some kitty cats romancing each other outside. I'm so glad all of mine are fixed now.

*sigh* what a way to start the day, but with a gorgeous parade of roses! I have some leaves on almost everyone's that survived, but that's about it. I still haven't pruned.. thoughts of snow next weekend (supposed to go down into the low 30s, subject to change). I'll probably have to wait on pruning until Mother's day. I won't buy any annuals until after that day too.

I'll be looking forward to your parade when all my roses are gasping in the heat and too pooped to bloom.
