Two Cuties!

I got to ring in the new year with a big maroon bell! I was not expecting my Stapelia leendertziae to be a winter bloomer, but it is, and there are three more buds in progress.

So far blooms are holding well despite the intermittent winter rains

I am so envious of your crassula ovata. Last year was deadly for all my jades. I didn't know what happened but all my Jades (ovata, gollum, etc) got black rot fungus and I could not save them. I have short cuttings that May live. The strange thing is my variegated Jades were not affected.

Might be the humidity and rain that we get on our side of the US.

My large Jade is spending the Winter in the garage, we just couldn't wheel the plant up the steps into the house last Fall any longer, it grew too much over the Summer. It bloomed a bit in December, but not as nice as in other years.

Thanks ❤️ I am also waiting for Crassula ovata 'Gollum' if it can manage to make more buds...so far it is just one lone branch tip that has it, and continues to hold on to its buds, taking its sweet time to bloom.

OMG, I am gonna have THREE cactus flowers! 🤯😁
Cacti and I have a rocky history. These four babies (two green Echinopsis and two dark Lobivia) were saved after I lost their parents to a battle with mealies. Two years ago, the larger of the two Lobivias actually produced one flower, to my absolute astonishment. Last year, nothing. I put them in the kitchen window this winter, sunniest spot in the house, and I guess that was the magic trick! I just about hyperventilated when I realized that BOTH were going to bloom, and had three flowers between them! Actually it looks like the smaller one might be starting a fourth, but I'm not totally sure yet.

@Tarev, envy your blooming crassula spring time and crassula ovata! I never saw mine bloom.
