No I didn't, Carol. That first pic is the Bolo with the white around the lip. The second is the Zygo.

These are beautiful blooms! My orchids are not doing well at all. I waited for my orchids to bloomed and finally they did but I got bud blast:

This orchid has been like this for 2 weeks now and new buds fell off:

My Cattleya bloomed but novice mistake I fertilized it with blooming fertilizer and got bud blast

Only promising one is this year's Valentines orchid my DH gave me for valentines and they are still blooming:

And this morniing this one rebloomed from last year's purchase

My dendrobium were dying, I was ready to throw them away but noticed some baby plants coming out. They were indoors and spider mites feasted on them :(.

Sorry, I am no help at all with those pretty Zygos.

Gigi, you have some nice Phal blooms here. Lovey dubby

Bud blast has many reasons, but I don't know how fertilizing can cause bud blast? The Cattleya looks to me like it was simply done blooming?

Spider mites? Wash them off to start with and can you move the Dendrobiums outside?

In the meanwhile - for those celebrating - Happy Easter

Happy Easter to all. Family coming over for dinner. I am trying to make sourdough from scratch and got some starter from King Arthurs. So far I think I will stick to orchids. What a mess Hilarious!

Back to the Bollopetalum/Zygo issue, a Bollopetalum is a cross between a Bollea and a Zygopetalum. The Bollopetalum Midnight Blue 'Cardinal Roost' is Bollea violacea x Zygopetelum B. G. White and seems to be the most popular Bollopetalum by far. It is the one I have and it sure looks like the orchid Bree has as well. Since the Bollo and Zygo are closely related, I'm not sure we can tell them apart. Carol's orchid may be a Zygo even though it looks closer to my Bollo than my Zygo.

Jim, The one you're calling Zygo looks like Zygonisia cynosure 'Blue Bird', but you're right, my Psycho does look a lot like your Bollopetalum.

You're right, Carol. The tag says Zygo Cynosure 'Blue Birds'. It sure is pretty.

Thanks for the tip on my Dendrobium. Moved it outside and feed them today, hopefully the little babies will survive.
