I saw a few dormant daylilies peeping!
Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Mat.6:28-29

Marilyn--
I grew those from seed from a trade. They were 'Jack Frost'. Most came true. They seem to bloom early here. Almost before the leaves start coming out. Here's a pic of one later in the season last year.-=--

Yes, beautiful picture and it's a beautiful plant! Funny how I always thought you just buy the plant. Never would have thought to start from seed, or to even gather seed. I have a friend who has one, maybe I'll try and get some seed from her now that I have a "shade" garden.
I find Jack divides quite easily and settles in to a new spot quickly. I plan to scatter mine about a bit more, I'm embracing the idea of having the same plant in different locations which kind of ties the gardens together (my general style is your basic cottage garden with lots of variety).
I want to live in a world where the chicken can cross the road without its motives being questioned.
Oops...must be in the shade garden. I was so excited about the lamium I forgot to look for the Jack Frost. I'll check and report in! I have one primula blooming!

I could use some Jack also! I will look through my seeds, I still have stuff from a seed swap that I have never opened.

Yep, there it was, right between the Lamium! No blossoms though.
Susan, want me to see if I can get you a piece of this one when I send your echinacea, wihich, by the way I did dig, I am just making sure it's okay before I send.
