We had snow overnight. Supposed to be only a dusting then be waashed away by the rain. Well we had about four inches, it did rain but there is at least two inches still left on the ground. Tomorrow is the first day of spring but it doesn't feel like spring around here.

Heading out to go visit my new grandson for a couple of days, get some major cuddle time in! I loaded two large garbage containers full of weeds yesterday, body aches! Today it's raining, watering the rest of the weeds, sigh. The roses are looking good, beautiful new fresh foliage and lots of buds already developing, iris are looking good, getting excited for the wonderful color to come!

Well, first day of spring, at least on the calander. Can't prove it by going outside. It still feels like winter around here.

I just ordered some hairy vetch and crimson clover seeds. Got them from Peaceful Vally Farm Supply where I buy all my cover crop seeds. I grow both the vetch and clover because I think they are so pretty so I find a spot at the edges of the garden here or there to plant them.

HAHAHA!! You're planting them & I curse them in my yard! They're almost impossible to get out of my yard because of the root system the clovers put down!

I ordered white clover which I put in my lawn (love the flowers) and I ordered crimson clover whuch is an annual. It has beautiful red flowers in the spring, dies after its finished flowering. The vetch dies in the hot weather also. No troubles with any of them.

Took some pics today even though it was so cold I could not wait to get back inside.

iris reticulata I planted so many (200) but there are only a very few up. I don't know why the others are not up.

A chilly wind is blowing and it is no where near 46 at my house in the side yard where I can see the temps. More like 40. I have so many bulbs but very few are up yet, too cold!

hehehe, anything above 25degs isn't cold. When I lived upstate NY, anything above 10degs was light jacket weather, and anything over freezing was shorts weather!

I started on my spring garden chores even thought I sure doesn't feelk like spring. Cleaned out my two 35 gallon ponds. Those fill with leaves each fall and winter and the longer you leave them in the spring, the more they rot and stink. It was so cold today there wasn't much stink. Hilarious!

I usually bail them out, clean and refill them but the hose is frozen so I couldn't refill. That will have to wait.

I also made a trench and planted my super sugar snap peas in ground. Was just going to get ready with the trench and leave the planting to a warmer day. But then last minute just decided to plant them cold or no cold. I still have another pea patch to plant and also the pots I use for peas to plant. I will just wait a bit on that.

Then I was tying back some larger branches on my roses next to my garage. Those are two big shrubs which must be about 8 feet tall by now and quide wide. I find them easier to deal with if I tie and prune before they leaf out.

Next up on the garden agenda is spring cleanup and the big spring rose prunning. After the prunning would be the fertilizing. Hopefully somewhere in there my spring bulbs will really start to pop.

:(

They promised us rain. CO got rain & snow.. everywhere but here in the Denver metro. It completely went around us. They're still predicting snow for us tomorrow, but they keep fluxing the amount.. it's gone from 4 inches to 6 inches now down to 2 inches...

You're right, Porkpal. Cubits is still there, but the rose cubit is gone. I didn't notice it until yesterday, when I wanted to resume our conversation there and was redirected to ATP. The same thing happens when I click on the Clematis cubit.
