Thumbs up And, I bet the people who come to your library appreciate the greenery. I know I would.

My variegated ficus benjamina has gotten so big from the little sprig of a plant in a 1 inch pot. There are actually 3 plants in there because I didn't bother to separate them.
Thumb of 2022-03-03/hlutzow/4ed8df

So far this is a my second favorite variegated peperomia obtusifolia. The lemon lime green vareigation is my favorite.
Thumb of 2022-03-03/hlutzow/e5d0c8

I got this little variegated ming aralia on the same day as the ficus. It was in a 1 inch pot as well. I haven't seen as much growth in it as I did a bit of fumbling on it's care initially. I nearly killed it. As a result, I have this one and a few rooted cuttings. Blinking I didn't even have that much room for the first one.

thanks! Seems to me, kind of like what you expect from a lily type -- week or two? I wonder if the very dry air in the library will shorten that. I was good last summer about finally fertilizing more regularly. Then did the winter cold dry rest.
Yesterday a man admired the Tradescantia spathacea, said a couple times that he liked it, mentioned it was his birthday, so I gave him a 4 inch pot one I had sort of extra. Win win!
Plant it and they will come.

haha
Oyster Plant (Tradescantia spathacea)
This- but mine is the plain, not the variegated. Do you ever see either for sale? Super easy to prop like other in this genus. Likes it pretty bright- can go in sun for summer here- the one at work is stretching, but at least it showed the man what his will probably look like.
Plant it and they will come.

That plant sells often here in Florida. We use it as a ground cover. There are two varieties of the non-variegated one, regular and dwarf. The regular plant gets tall. My neighbor has a colony that stands almost 18 inches. Most of mine are the dwarf variety, they get only about 6 inches tall. A really nice plant to grow and they propagate so easily.

Some random pics over the weekend, Hoya.

Little air plant on Dracaena tree trunk.

Finally repotted ponytail from her former cracked hanging pot. She's tall enough now to get a non-hanging pot. With friends that I plan to snip often so they don't cover PT's sexy, curvy trunk.
Thumb of 2022-04-18/purpleinopp/b70ce0

It wasn't broke, but I fixed it. Oops? IDK. Little false Aralia tree was in such a tiny pot with a wick, perched on a spaghetti sauce jar of water, but I moved it to this pot. There was more roots than "dirt" in the pot, but it was staying consistently moist with the wick. Time will tell if that was wise or not. 99% depends on if I'll end up watering often enough. One thirsty day and all of the leaves will fall off, if it acts like previous specimens.

Dracaena 'Florida Beauty.' This may be the slowest-growing plant I have.

They are so slow, and I don't see them like what I bought about 9 yrs ago. There were 4 itty bitties in a pot together, trunks a little smaller than golf ball size, small pot, small price. I potted one by itself and put the other 3 in a mini garden. They didn't survive the 2nd winter out there. This pic is from 2014 of the others:

How long have you had yours? At the rate mine has grown, I will be long gone before it ever gets much height. I would definitely get more if I see more babies like the pot I started with. The slowest plants may be the least exciting, but they are also the easiest plants to keep because they hardly ever need anything besides water.
