Hi & welcome, Sally! Your pics did not make it. Try again? It takes a few seconds (or longer maybe, for multiple pics &/or higher resolution) for the pics to upload. When the upload is complete, you should see some text appear. Wait for that to happen before clicking preview or finished. If it's taking too long, try doing them one at a time.

Nice! I've never had a birds nest but they are pretty.
Sometimes I realize a plant has been a bit dry, then I water better, and it responds quickly with new growth. My fan palm seems this way. It is at work, no pic.
Plant it and they will come.

Totally! This poor fern went through a time of not enough water a few winters ago and lost a lot of leaves. I've been more diligent since then. The new fronds usually start to unfurl at this time of year.

I usually lose palm leaves to sunburn, getting too anxious in the spring before the naked trees grow leaves.

When I first got that fern, it had been cultivated in really low light so the fronds were all leaned down and it wasn't very wide at all. You can see how they started to be more upright after a few months of more light.

After about 9 yrs, it has gotten really wide. The pics below are from a few months ago.

It is odd to me how plants can be ignored.. or just accepted as 'that's they way it is' when to me they're really not thriving. Shrug!
Plant it and they will come.

Wow!

Stunning plants, beautiful house.

Congratulations on both, I'm envious.

Love the grow lights under the...haworthia and echeveria?
How are they working for you?

And the last shot, pitcher plants and sundews?
If so, do they feed on their own?

We have to all-but hand feed fruit flies.

Thumbs.

Sorry for the numb part but props for noticing that poor SOB.

In a similar situation I can see myself contacting them, probably through email, to let them know I'd be glad to try and get it healthy again or give them pointers on how to care for it better there (if at all possible).

It does nothing to relax their patients and doesn't reflect well on their business even if just from an aesthetics point of view.

I assumed it was trying to be but looking at it blown up I just see vines and no true stems.

At least there's an attempt at letting it climb.

I did get a wonderful rescue Monstera this way about a year ago, but it was offered.

Massage place right in-between my 2 stores, great family.

Way in back, maybe a 30w bulb.

Hacked it back, have 3 solid cuttings and approaching 20 new leaves on the root stock.

In the effort of trying to save it, you could offer them something else in return, easy for you to grow?

A big Swedish Ivy plectranthus maybe.

Unfortunately, most businesses couldn't care less. As long as it is green-ish, they think it is doing its job as decoration.

Agreed. That plant is just sad though.
I like to think there're more plant lovers out there than I'm aware of.

Props for the "couldn't" care less. I can't help it.
