Lynn ~ sometimes when I add a plant or photo to the data base the message says I received an acorn. Other times the message doesn't say it, so does that mean no acorn was given? or just that the person forgot to tell you? And yes, I'm trying to rack them up for the big event.

When a brand new plant is added to the data base, that doesn't earn an acorn. Adding data and pictures does earn an acorn, and depending on how much of a comment(s) you post, that also earns acorns. Comments are about the plants in general, not just a particular picture.

There's still time to earn acorns before the raffle!

I would add that there isn't a person who decides if you get an acorn. Dave's software does the deciding. You can get one acorn for the first photo added to any category for the plant. By category I mean the form that comes up when you first submit a photo (entire plant, leaves, seeds, bulb, bloom are categories). You get an acorn for the first photo you submit in a category but not for additional photos for that category. So if you submit say three photos that you designate as "Bloom" you get just one acorn. The idea is to encourage folks to take photos of different parts of the plant.
