Yes I am planting them now. After soaking them overnight in dilute transplant fertilizer.
But takes me awhile…..2 hours and I just got The Fawn planted!
But I did dig good big holes and pounded a fruit tree, fertilizer spike in bottom, and also shook rock phosphate in bottom.
Threw in a couple of broken chalk pieces for good measure.
Covered with good soil and a bit of peat on top.

Caroline - I am fascinated to read about your late planting (and soaking) last Spring; do tell us how they were over the Summer last year.
Well the voles destroyed all of the Fawn tubers.
They have been very bad this past year.
I think that my planting method would have been fine without the voles.
I may have to do something like that. Apparently they are bad all over the city this year. I bought hardware cloth to protect lily bulbs and may need to use it for peony roots. I also have metal wire waste baskets that I might dig in to protect bulbs and roots.
That's so sad to hear Caroline. I wonder if you could plant peonies in wire mesh baskets?
