Didn't know what sweet tea was until met my wife. I tried it and been drinking it since. But of course that's one of the things doc says I need to stop doing. Doc been wanting me to stop doing a lot of things lately.

I love sweet tea but it can only be a little sweet or, as they say in the south, a tad sweet. GH on the other hand loves sugar, the more the merrier. It is like tea flavored simple syrup.

Well, I like everything on Pats list BUT mountain oysters. Just can't wrap my mind or teeth around those. I will add frog legs to my list. Absolutely delicious! I've not met any fish or seafood I didn't like, either. Well, not fond of seas bass.

I've never even had fish or seafood of any kind. No alcohol or coffee or tea. No marijuana. Ironically I smoke like a fiend and guzzle Coke Zero. Not sure if I'm weird or just unique!

We used to accuse my grandfather of drinking pancake syrup because his tea was sooo sweet. Hilarious! To make it even worse, he used those horrid instant tea granules, Nestea (which should have been branded as "Nastea" Sticking tongue out ).

If I drink iced tea at a restaurant, I have to ask for 75% unsweetened & 25% sweet. Alternately, I may say 1/4 sweet & 3/4 unsweetened. Either way, you can often see the server's brain cells smoking. However, the funniest time was when my mom asked for her coffee cup to be filled with half decaf & half caffeinated coffee and the girl, with all sincerity, asked if she would like the decaf on the top or the bottom! Rolling on the floor laughing

@farmerdill - I sent you a question via treemail a week or so ago. If you get a chance to reply, I'd be most appreciative. Thanks so much! Green Grin!

Have you cut them into french fry type strips, tossed with olive oil and roasted at high heat until very, very dark brown, bordering on burnt? Delicious.
I find myself most amusing.

No never thought of that. When I was a child they were always mashed with butter. I like mashed potatoes but never developed a taste for parsnips. Have not grown them since I left the farm in 56.

Tomato thread - so, oddly, a tomato question.
Have any of you grown 'Aussie'? I've added it to my 2022 rotation but as with so many varieties that sound great I wonder what 'real gardener' experience is.
Lynda...?

I'm pretty sure I have Aussie, but I'm set on trying 'beefsteak' as my first tomato by seed. I also have 'super beefsteak' which is supposedly pretty hard to find and hard to grow, so I don't want to take any chances with it as my first tomato cultivar.

You thought about finding a different doctor? Whistling

I drink sweet tea, too...drank it for as long as I can remember. My MIL used to make it but swear all she did was hold the bag of sugar up so the pitcher of tea could see it! D'Oh! A bag of sugar lasted her a long time! I sure loved that lady! Quiet a woman!!!'👍
