I like the new font but some don't. You can now go to your profile and switch back the font to the old font.

I saw in one YouTube video where the guy was suggesting to prune Adenium before the new growth starts in Feb. He said if the new growth started and we prune it will hamper with flowering. Don't know how far is this correct.
Another thing ,what should be done first. Pruning or repotting? Pl suggest.
If pruning first and then reporting when should I hang? Or I should ditch hanging this year.

I like to prune the adeniums during their active growing time, as I believe it will have a higher chance in getting multiple branches
GigiPlumeria said: Yes, pruning instructions vary. Some say prune right after the bloom but I didn't want to do that as I might miss out on seedpods. Then when I realize no seedpods are forthcoming, usually new buds have formed .
But, since mine are not that tall, I experimented and pruned some and they formed buds right away on new growth.
I don't know about repotting and hanging. My plan is just to loosen the dirt of each Adenium (so the soil is not too compact) but have no plans of repotting or hanging any.

As per hanging, what I know is that hanging is required when you prune / cut the roots, to let the wounds callused. Or when you need to loosen the roots, if you let the plant dried for a long time, the roots will become softer and you can reformat the shape. Have seen 1 seller had an adenium hanging for more than 6 months to make the roots straight, but not sure if he sprayed the plant with water or not
Kaktus said: No issue at all, if you find that the plant is not stable, just put some bricks or rocks to support, you can remove the bricks later when it can sit by its own. I did this a lot when try to root cactus, the plant has to sit on top of the media, then the rocks will help to support, this is one example, ofcourse for Adenium you need a bigger stones
GigiPlumeria said: Looks really healthy @Aashna The caudex seems to be thin (like my seedling grown in deep containers). If you want the caudex to get bigger, I think pruning would help as well as re planting it in shallow pot too.
Aashna said: Thanks Gigi. i was little worried , never wanted another Hulk type . Though Hulk is still surviving , producing buds .
Yeah, i want a bigger caudex. I will repot def. Regarding prune, where should I prune? Should I prune the branches separately or cut the main branch near caudex?

Got this short guy yesterday. I have mostly pinks so this time thought of going for some different color. Went to few nurseries . Some didn't have adenium , few had hybrid but were very costly .
One had pinks and whites . It's a lottery for me now as the buds are some what green. Have to wait and see if it's white or pink again.
As far as I have seen in my pink adeniums , when the buds form they will have a pink or dark pink dot .
What are hybrids ?
Nursery lady said it's around 1 year old. Looks like clay soil. Will have to change soon.
sedumzz said: Hybrid is when someone takes pollen from one variety and pollinated another variety
If successful , the traits of each flower and plant may mix together and make a new one
GigiPlumeria said: The height of the shorter branches seem perfect to me. For now, after repot, just prune the long one first so it is the same height with the others, allowing the plant to acclimate to your area before heavy pruning. This way, you will also give it a chance to bloom first.
