I haven't really tried to propagate them. To tell you the truth, as Daylilies are my major obsession, all open ground is now mostly structured around where I can put new ones. With over 600 and more arriving all the time, they do take up a fair amount of space. And lovely though the azaleas are when they bloom, it's pretty short ( maybe two weeks) and they are pretty boring for the rest of the season. But if you play your Daylily cards right, you get continuous bloom from June to frost. I'm a fan of color! Hurray! Hurray!

I know all about plant obsessions Big Grin currently having 33 different azaleas in my yard. Just last year I added 12 new daylillies and 8 new hostas. Gotta fill this acre of land somehow!

Thanks again for the pictures.

600 more daylilies? Blinking
Do you plant them all yourself?

Would love to see them peek out of the snow, and
a few pics through the year as they bloom.

I only have a few, but will go to you if I ever
have a question. Smiling

Actually, the Daylilies forum here is amazing. All questions thoroughly discussed and answered for all parts of the country. Your growing conditions and the Daylilies that will be happy there, are very different from mine North of Boston. It's important to find the ones that are designed for your climate. But many famous breeders live and work in California, including Pat Stamile who has bred Daylilies all over America but has ended up in Southern CA. You would probably do best with Tetraploid Evergreens. Around here, Diploid Dormants are a good bet. Although, I have all the different kinds, in my zone you never know what's going to work, it's considered a sort of middle ground ( zone 6/7). A few photos ( I love photos!)
