Regarding the photo rotation.... phones store the camera's orientation inside the photo itself. There is a data format for images called Exif that inside of which is stored all kinds of information like the latitude/longitude of where the photo was taken, when it was taken, and whether it was in vertical or horizontal when the photo was taken. When you upload the photo, my software reads that exif data. 10 years ago I wrote code to read that Exif data and reposition the photos so they always appeared correct.
With my new server update, apparently the software library I use to do that automated repositioning has changed. My task now is to determine what changed in that codebase and alter the Garden.org codebase to accommodate the changes, and then the photos will no longer be sideways.
