When I moved I had to let some of my larger plants grow, you'd be surprised how many people were offended that they weren't fake and thought I was charging too much for them being real! I had no idea how popular fakes still were now that the 80s are so far behind us!

I think they were hoping to knock my prices down either way, but had no idea real plants would cost money unless you went to the nursery for them.

[quote="valleylynn"]More light and cooler temps would be helpful. They won't really recover until they can go outside. But they should do fine with less water, more light and cooler temps. That will put them into a somewhat dormant state until your spring arrives.

I learned something new! Never thought this succulent likes cooler temps. So what temps is cooler? Mine was doing good, always indoor, temp about 70 but by the East/South facing window, which has lots of direct sunlight, until recently, all the lower leaves curled down tightly, to form a ball.

Hi lonelyplanter, and a big welcome to NGA. So glad you found your way here to the sempervivum forum.
The leaves curling down is from lack of enough sunlight. Semps just aren't happy indoors.
You also might find it to have some bright colors if it was outdoors. If you move it outdoors, gradually increase the amount of sunlight so it doesn't burn.
Where are you located? That also makes a big difference in how much sunlight to give you semp.

Thank you for the welcome and reply, valleylynn.
I am in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. my plants are by the window facing south-east, sunshine on the plants from early morning until almost noon. But it is true that we have blackout curtain, won't open until 8:30am so it get less sunlight than winter. I now move it to a window that has no curtain, don't have a safe place for it to move outside yet.
This is my first sempervivum, it really is special. My other succulents are doing well in the exact same setting.

Your other succulents are tender succulents, not winter hardy. They don't need as much sunlight as the hardy sempervivum. Sempervivum need a time of winter dormancy. They are alpine plants and need the cold.
