Happy Mothers Day to all moms.
I didn't think I would have any blooms today, because of a hose pipe incident yesterday. The bud on Lillians David Phillips was knocked off. Sighing!
I walked out to look the yard over and to my surprise there was a daylily blooming.
Smith Lake Fun. Though it didn't double it still bloomed. I use to call Terah Mom because she had no daughters.

Hurray! our season has begun.
I know my neighbor heard me holler, and probably saw me do my happy dance.

Rolling on the floor laughing Maybe I should make a plate for it that says, "Orange Flower," so the neighbors don't think I've lost my marbles.

Hey all,
Before the season kicks in I want to say my pictures probably won't look as good as some of you all. I use my phone to take all pics. With that being said here are this mornings blooms.

I'm out in the yard getting a float ready for a day at the spring and I walked past a flower and realized I didn't know what it was. This is supposed to be Epizootic. I got this plant this year. Epizootic should have a purple pattern on it so I'm not sure if maybe that will show up on later blooms???

If I ordered a stunner like Epizootic and got a bloom like that, Alea, I would be heartbroken. If I was you I would contact your vendor ASAP. Looks like a big mix-up.

Nice sdlg Karen!
Sadly I agree with everyone Alea, there must have been a mix up with Epizootic. The one you received is very pretty but doesn't appear to be the correct plant. I'd contact the seller as Orion suggested.

This is one of our "unsung heroes" daylilies. This came from Kathy Rood of Grace Gardens, unfortunately she died last year. It's listed as med-late blooming, but that is obviously for a colder climate. This one never falters, always produces lots of smallish pretty blooms. Then it takes a rest and starts over again in late summer.

Our name for this daylily that was passed along to us years ago. It has a pretty long bloom season, can go for six weeks with favorable conditions. I think I saw a daylily that looked like this that won the Stout Medal maybe in the 1960's. It had those "twisty" type petals.
