Sue, your lates are starting already? I'm still waiting for pretty much any seedlings to get the season started! Had 1 lonely sdlg blooming today and thousands of green buds stubbornly refusing to open.... Sighing!

This years daylily season is not normal, it started with delay and usually the lates start here around mid July, this year many flower earlier and some ee are still flowering Confused
At the moment the seedlings beds with the late tets are starting while in the very late dip beds there are only a few flowers open (they have parents that start in August).

Very white late seedling (one parent is Sagarmatha - not my cross):

Late and very fragrant older seedling (Final Touch x Suzy Cream Cheese, one of my first crosses), high scapes large flowers, just yellow but makes a great impact in the garden setting:

Another nice one Kenny. I tip my hat to you.

Sue, your yellow seedling is nice. I think yellow is under appreciated as a color, seen as being overly pedestrian in the vast array of colors and styles that Hems have, causing some cultivars not to receive the praise they're due.

You maybe right.
I'm not a fan of yellow ones and this seedling is only kept for sentimental reasons. Accidentally this one was planted in a more dark space in front of a hedge where it now brightens up the whole szene. I have several yellow late and very late registered plants here but no one is comparable in flower size and performance here in my garden setting. Maybe I should count the buds and evaluate this seedling?
It is parent plant for some quite good late one.

I'm interested in breeding for lates Sue. The latest blooms are predominately yellow for some reason. I like that color but it needs something to go with it

Another mystery cross- could be Wolverine x SC Chomp Chomp (best guess)
The other possibilities don't involve parents as toothy as this seedling.
Three total- this one is the toothiest.

Thumb of 2022-07-11/ShakespearesGarden/b22caa
Really tall, sturdy scape, (around 4') branching and bud count pretty darn good for a first year bloomer.
Another one that I'm trying to figure out- seedling or NOID. No clue what this cross could be. 99.9% sure it's a seedling as I dug out all of the seedlings I could save on one day and didn't havea chance to mix them up with registered daylilies. Checked my lists anyways, nothing matches and I can't imagine that I would have bought this.

Still can't upload more than 2 pix. Even tried reducing image size. Ideas, folks? What could I be doing wrong??

OK, I waited for all the siblings to have bloomed and now can show them together.
Along Came Amanda x Gaudy Grasshopper. Fall 2020 germinated.

ACAXGG203 FFE (3.5" small flower, high-contrast sharply defined eye, interesting watermark on sepals):

ACAXGG204 FFE (similar to first one, eye a bit more subtle, but not recurved so appears bigger):

I can definitely get rid of the last one. Keeping the first one.
Probably keeping the second one to breed for tall daylilies.
Third one, not sure. Will keep for now. I do not hate it, but it is small.

Two seedlings from yesterday that are getting better every year:

L'Orangerie De Montfort x Gryphon Stanley Saxton
I have several seedlings out of this cross - one is outstanding in color (very very intense - as far as I know there is Primal Scream somewhere in the pedigree), height, flower size and bud count - and it flowers quite late despite the midseason flowering parents:

Very pretty seedlings everyone!
Dave, the first is nice, a pretty one for sure.
Will, your rebloom is fabulous, love the intense color.

Agree Sue, the orange has wonderful depth and saturation. Great color! Plant is pretty darn nice too.

Orion, #1 & #3. First is gorgeous. Third is cute and could improve with more time, as a small if that is a direction you want to go it has potential. I really really like #1. Smiling

Not much to look at but a good garden plant underneath: 22 buds @ FFO, 3-4 way branching, good fan production...13 scapes this year, fertile both ways. Likes MI dirt a lot more than my TX sand Confused Rolling my eyes.
