You may notice that there are very few photos from 2012. Last summer I was very busy caring for my mother during the last few months of her life and had litttle time to take photos or post. It was a strange summer. Spring came very early with most everything blooming about a month earlier that normal. From there we moved into a hot, dry summer with drought conditions and water restrictions. I was smart enough to pot up a lot of coleus and other annuals early in the season when I realized that there won't be much blooming from late July onward.. I ended up moving a lot of the pots into the front garden to add a little late season color. The back yard was allowed to go dormant. I've been relieved this year to see that most of the plants are coming back. I did lose a few echinacea, a large aruncus, some columbine and a few other things. Thankfully I grow a lot of very drought tolerate things like daylilies, Iris and lilies.
Here are a few photos from the 2012 season.
A big clump of Little Episode which was divided last fall.

Here are some of the many pots of coleus that were moved to the area near the street in Oct. You can see that the plants behind them look rough.
