I knew better- I should have staked it!
It even had the stakes from its first bloom in the pot. This is the second stalk. I just had to re-attach them but didn't do it.
I've done it now...
Opal Star from Amaryllis Bulb Company. A mid-sized cultivar which is particularly nice when planted in the Southern Garden. In a few years, one bulb produces a large clump, the earliest one to bloom each spring.
Unknown double from Amaryllis Bulb Company. This beautiful, but unfortunately NOID, double was an accidental or intentional substitution for an ordered bulb. This bloom resembles Rozetta which was sold by ABC this year. However, I just don't think that ID is correct. Rozetta is a pale pink double with a green throat. This bloom has a pale pink-coral background with dark raspberry trim and a picotee edge without a green throat. As the bloom ages the coral becomes more intense. I sent photos to ABC and they were unable to ID it. It came from a grower in Peru. I welcome any input as to ID. For now, it goes into my NOID file.
Curious to know, has anyone had a issue this season with a lot of mislabeled bulbs, or is it just me? I ordered 7 bulbs from ABC and 3 were mislabeled. I was disappointed, since they had been so reliable in the past. I am interested in your experiences this year.
No issues with mislabeled bulbs. Just no time to grow for the Holiday's.
All your blooms.
Sorry no idea on ID , just learned there are so many that look so similar and especially from the warm hemisphere regions of Africa and Peru are different than it's name sake from the cooler hemisphere the Netherlands l

Mid-season for my outdoor Amaryllis. The real star of the show is Opal Star which is at the back on the left. I lost about a dozen blooms to army worms. Overall, it should be a decent season, possibly due to a dry winter when the bulbs were dormant.
Barbara you have a fantastic collection of amaryllis blooms. There is something so magical about them . The blooms always brings smiles and giggles full of joy.

Thank you. These are on the side of the house. So many people, who walk down the street, will ask me to come look at them. People, who are visiting from the North or who recently move here, have no idea that Amaryllis are not just a Xmas throwaway plant, but can be grown outdoors in zone 9A.
