Looks a little like Arabian Night, beautiful blooms Ron! There are lots of red ones, kind of hard to pin it down.

I'll hopefully have blooms soonish. One of my bulbs just woke up, so I moved my other two to try to get them waking up too.

Hopefully the one blooms this year. It didn't do anything last year. Still seems like a healthy firm bulb though.

Anyone grown 'Rilona'? Just found bulbs available from a Canadian supplier. I like the soft orange blooms in the photos. Smiling

Macrocentra Or just a guess try maybe 'Red Ferrari'… there are so many red amaryllis in the market today…depending on where they originate. North or South hemispheres. North are bulbs from the Netherlands bloom Nov. Dec -Feb March cold temp seasons. Southern hemisphere grown bulbs from Peru/Africa bloom later in the season June - August during warmer temperatures , depending on zones. I'm guessing since your blooming amaryllis is in august sept… could be a bulb originated from the southern hemisphere. Also plus very few blooms with the long anther that set low in the bloom position . It is a huge gorgeous bloom. What a beautiful statement this time of year. Hurray! Lovey dubby

Not familiar with orange blooms… in my opinion any color amaryllis is always spectacular any time of year.

Apple Blossom blooms are spectacular always a crowd pleazer… one of my favorites.

All of my amaryllis are dormant now. Some from both north and south hemispheres,
By Oct. I will repot them all and have some lovely blooms for the Holidays.

The one that's starting to grow is my white 'Donner'. It had huge beautiful blooms in the winter last year.

I also have 'Chico' (the one that didn't do anything last year) and 'Blushing Bride', which also gave me several large blooms on two stalks.

So rewarding are amaryllis. They are always full of surprises. They sound lovely and studies show that flowers are a great way to keep spirits up during winter or any time of year. Amaryllis bulbs are a little package full of sunshine and lovely flowers with many stalks full of blooms.
They may be dormant half the year but when they bloom they steal our hearts. Lovey dubby

That's the main reason I like them. I get bad Fall and Winter blues. The flowers help cheer me up. This is usually the time of year I end up with new orchids for the same reason.

Exactly .. we do have lil break from gardening. And that leaves us more time to tend to new and old plants inside… I have so many plants inside flowering or greenery always make the home sing with the blooms of orchids and amaryllis and more…

On Oct 9, 2022, I posted a photo of an amaryllis blooming out of season (Nymph) a few days after Hurricane Ian came through our county. This morning, I discovered that this amaryllis was blooming, out of season, ten days after Hurricane Idalia passed through. I don't remember the name of this one, but I sure am grateful to see it.

bsharf How exciting and such a surprise to see an amaryllis bloom after Idahlia especially this time of year. It does look like a nymph I have one similar see pic…
So many amaryllis that can grow almost anytime of year. I guess your amaryllis was waiting for the rainy season. Rolling on the floor laughing
This is a pic of the nymph similar not quite. It was one that the bulb was tagged from vender and bulb wrapped in wax.

Nymph referred to the photo which I posted in Oct 22. The closest photos I have, for this one, are the cultivars Fiesta and Daphne. It can be really difficult to positively ID reblooming bulbs from photos. I suspect that there can be a subtle change in the appearance of flowers over time, due to environmental influences on the bulb. Camera settings and lighting conditions at the time that the flowers are photographed can also change the appearance of the photo.

'Chico' still has yet to do anything.

Hello. I have an Amaryllis that blooms reliably in both spring and fall. I have had this one for over 10 years, but have never been able to identify it. I received it from a fellow gardener. It also multiples wonderfully. It is planted outside, as I live where we can grow them outdoors year round. I wondered if someone might be able to identify it. This photo of its fall bloom was taken a couple of days ago.

Anyone familiar with Sweet Dreams Amaryllis ?

Recently purchased 3 bulbs, since they offer some unusual colors. One in particular: https://sweetdreamamaryllis.co...

Haven't found any images other than the sellers. Curious if the color is accurate.
