Ok, I have another search going on. A few weeks ago one of my customers asked if I knew of a daylily called Levitation and where he could find it, well no I hadn't and I didn't.
Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Levitation')
I searched for a few days on quite a few websites, nada. So I tmailed Frank our resident "tall" guy and asked if he knew of it. He didn't but now we are both looking for it and having no luck. Anyone want to help with the search? Smiling

I had a daylily named 'Wrennetta Powell' being their is a daylily named after her, could she be the hybridizer of 'Levitation'? It was hybridized by Petit, so maybe he might know something about her and her plants?

I've heard of Levitating Ananuki.

Daylily (Hemerocallis 'The Levitating Ananuki')

I did see Levitation mentioned here. Bill Powell was the speaker. He had a farm: Epiphany Farm in Fort Atkinson. I'm sure someone there will know. https://wisconsindaylilysociet...

Here is his Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/bill....

I read on the Wisconsin Daylily page he is out of the business. He still hybridizes but doesn't sell them.

Wow, excellent info! I'm not on Facebook so would have never found the information you did JasonT. Thank you for all the help I tip my hat to you. That's to bad he is not selling anymore. I'll have to see if anyone in the Wisconsin group knows where it can be found. Levitation is registered at 80" and out of the 7 reg. 80"+ is the only tet. Five of the other 6 over 80" were reg. at 84" by hybridizer Hamblin in 1951. Hamblin also reg. the 6th one in 1951 with a height of 96"! Interesting stuff you can find when doing a search.
I grow The Levitating Ananuki, that was how this customer found me. Smiling

A vendor on the LA just contacted me to let me know a single fan of 'Sonja's Broken Sunbeam' will be on sale on Sunday. I think she is trying to drum up an interested audience (fair enough). As I am not interested at all in that, I will let you guys know.
Just as an FYI, last year single fans sold for $400. Better than 2021 when 1 single fan sold for $1330. So, get ready to sell a kidney if you do want it. Whistling

I got the same message. I'm sure she'll sell it (and good for her!), but way out of my price range. Besides, I already have some unbloomed seedlings from that one and also Undefinable Kid. So I'll take my chances with those Crossing Fingers!

I would like to know what you're looking for. Possible it's something I have? At any rate, it's nice to see another Badger in daylilies. I'm looking forward to hearing from you.

@westoakjoycefusenet, there is no registered daylily named Poney or even one with Poney in the name according to the AHS database. There is one called 'Pony'. Is this the one you are looking for or maybe one that has the word pony in the name. What does the one you are looking for look like?

Here is a link to a picture in this sites database for 'Pony':
Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Pony')

Here is the AHS 'Pony'. There are 18 daylilies registered before the year 2000 with the word pony in them.

Does anyone know where I could find CHEW MAILPOUCH TOBACCO?
I wasn't going to add any this year (I didn't last year but then I lost a tall red to the Elk this winter and it looks like just what I need.) I can't find it anywhere.

Thank you

Crintonic Gardens seems to have it for $40. They spell Mailpouch as two words.
http://www.crintonic.com/?prod...

5 Acre Farms for $35. https://store.5acrefarmdaylili... And they spell Mailpouch as one word.

Those are the only two places I've found it.

Cottage Gardens and Simonton Bridge have become my two "go to" places to look for cultivars that don't pop up in Google searches. Their inventories are enormous.

@Char, maybe you've already found Murder Mystery, but because of Nan's post, I took a peek at Cottage Gardens 2023 list and Murder Mystery is listed for $75.

Thanks, Nan, @DeweyRooter! I'm going to keep those two sources in mind.

Strigeidida said: Thank you *muchly*, Char, for starting this.

The only plant on my list so far is Mrs. John Cooper. But I consider it highly desirable, as I have evil and nefarious plans for it. 🧬

Actually they're not that evil or nefarious, but it makes cross pollination sound a lot more fun.

@Strigeidida, Cottage Gardens has Mrs. John Cooper for $20 on their 2023 price list in case you are still looking for it.

Caveat-
Cottage Gardens (as others who have hard to find and newer daylilies) often lists prices for a single fan - his price sheet use an S instead of a $ to the left of the price, which can be easy not to notice
