When I was first given seeds of this verbascum some years ago, it seemed to take a couple of years top get it up and flowering. Then it made itself at home and began seeding into other pots around it so that now I have a continuing supply. This one is the first to flower, having seeded itself into a large pot. Love, love all the verbascums.

Sherry is that verbascum a perennial rather than a biennial? If so, I may look for that for my herb garden. I've been having my sister in eastern Washington bring me a common mullein (V. thapsus) every spring to fill that slot. She is always chastising me, telling me there are much prettier verbascums out there (yours is gorgeous).
Although I rather like my big thugs...and they don't reseed for me.
I want to live in a world where the chicken can cross the road without its motives being questioned.
I love v. thapsus also. I use it in pots where it's admired as a velvet leaved plant and then I explain what it's going to do when it flowers also. I find that I like it in pots when in flower also. The v. chaixii album is a perennial. A quick run through my seed bags tells me that I don't have any saved, but I'll have seed from the one that's currently flowering if you'd like some. T-mail a mailing address to me if you want some....
