If all of my semps had roots like this 'Cherry Frost' I'd have no problems in life!🤣

I think if mine that I lost in the early freeze had roots like that I would not have lost them. My established semps had no issues. Well except the one from Home Depot, it was a cute little webbie called Cebenese that had months to make nice roots, in 2 pots, both died

Teresa, me either!🤣 I think cherry frost must just be a good variety?
It was growing through the thick layer of coir that I didn't remove. I hope they all like their new soil.

Alice, don't you just love established semps? They are indestructible!

Not in North Texas. I have to do a good bit more to have semps at all The sun / shade requirements with our summer temps, the roof they need during our flooding rains, the watering they need during our drought. If I quit these things they would probably die

Heads up, Mountain Crest Gardens https://mountaincrestgardens.c... has added many semps to their available list.

And a large list of semps at Perennial Obsessions. https://perennialobsessions.co...

Here is SMG https://smgsucculents.com/coll...

Will be seeing how sempervivum like freezing rain when the ice finishes melting. Wasn't a huge amount, they had sleet first. The cold front didn't come in too fast and I blocked them for wind. the poorly ones got a perch on the ground with a roof (those would be the ones with aphids that got an accidental vinegar dose and a fast repot) but I didn't baby the rest.

thank you. I'll have to wait to find out. roads cleared a little, I went to post office, took 5 tries to get my truck back up hill into my driveway. We still have ice. I did not hit the garage

That is good news. We are dealing with ice in KY too. Roads are clear but it is still all over the trees and powerlines.
I put in my first order to In The Country Garden. A friend had ordered last year and was pleased with hers and ordering more.

Good reminder Kevin. Semps in the wild know what ice and snow is. Smiling

Here I am in Fairfax, VA. Arrived last Wednesday to cold weather, but it is starting to warm up. Hurray!
I hope to make a trip to the Merrifield Garden Nursery in Fairfax. Wondering what they have in the way of semps. I promise to take some photos and share them.
I might even be able to meet up with a group in Maryland, not far from Fairfax. Plant people are the best. Smiling
Hope all of you are well, and looking forward to spring.

Last time I checked (A few weeks ago) they didn't have much. Not much Sedum either. They had an interesting Achillea, Cerastium, and a few other fun alpines (Quite a bit of Veronica).
Though I haven't checked recently as I've been busy

I am very busy right now, sorry about that. I may not be online much.

Give my regards to your VA family Lynn! Wonderful people!

You are missing nothing exciting for weather here, just more rain and overcast. I need a Tahiti trip just for Vitamin D!

Kevin
