Think there might be some later this year at MCG although they are still propagating quite a few. They need bigger numbers on these as they sell out rapidly. 'Crab Legs' and 'Christmas Stocking' ae the ones closest.

Many of these can be mixed with coarse sand, much cheaper than bagged potting mixes. And doesn't contain all of that added fertilizer and peat.

I wonder if I should mix some of that bark into my current semp and sedum mix, be cheaper than buying more chicken grit

Kevin

oops and oops again. I had a real oops today, I was on the phone with the daughter and I had a spray bottle in my hand with vinegar in it, and somehow I thought I had my alcohol sprayer and boy did I oops pouring a little vinegar on the semps in the "aphid" pot. Realized it right after I did it, rinsed with water, let drain a bit, made up a new pot, moved them, then poured a little 91% alcohol in the center of each. I had not marked "watch" on the 2023 thread, well until about 15 minutes ago.
They didn't die the first time. Hopefully aphids gone. This is in their new pot.

Last time I drank vinegar, it tasted really gross, but it didn't kill me. Let's hope it's the same way with your semps!

As a side note, when I say "drink" I mean it. Apple cider vinegar supposedly helps with illness and when I was really ill some time ago my mom made me drink the horrid stuff.

Finally! Got a few pots done today. Looks like I need to go back and get some of the grit off the leaves!

I got a paintbrush and got the dirt from between leaves on the repot anyway. I realized what I had done right after, and grabbed a garden hose and rinsed them. I repotted about an hour later in fresh soil and put that one in the front yard for sun cleansing. It wasn't a large amount of vinegar, nor a large amount of alcohol, so maybe they will be ok

Lynn,

'Crab Legs' is 'Deimos' X 'Fuego' and 'Christmas Stocking' is 'Lipstick' X self. I have only gotten a couple seedlings from 'Lipstick' as it makes few functional seeds but 'Christmas Stocking' is very fertile but much smaller than 'Lipstick', which can get up to 9" in diameter. 'Crab Legs' is big but not quite a giant.

Kevin
