I'm just using the VERY basic iPhone editing to darken the black background I use, then I use the 'markup' feature to erase the yellow Lab hair that tenaciously sticks to the black felt. I've also used markups to erase distractions like wire hangers. I'm left with a softer more natural look around the bloom and stem.
Ursula, when is Spring expected to arrive? Soon I hope!

Your photos look great!

Gigi, that is a pretty cool editing feature! Thumbs up Looking at this pic from today, it would erase all that stuff in the back.

Yes! Definitely! So you can just press on the photo using your thumb, Then it will show the image lifting. Drag and drop it to the black background and I use my 2 point finger (while holding the photo with my thumb Hilarious! ) to press the 2 buttons on each side to take a screenshot! (My first try I had my daughter take the screenshot while I was holding the photo in place on the black background.)

Then you can just crop the original photo out so you are left with the photo with the black background.

Gina, the leaves are small, so I think it is probably Dendrobium jenkinsii. ( There is a larger one/Dendrobium lindleyi) Cute!

I figured out the easiest way to get the photo in black background and remove the background clutter but have a natural look. This feature is on iPhone 11 or higher. Just press the photo and it will ask you to copy (which you can paste in email or text) or share and has more option where you can save the image and it will have a black background.

I must admit, this one though cluttered looks nice on its natural habitat. On the oak tree in my garden.

Oh, nice Gigi, they look really good. I tried briefly on my iPhone 12 but it didn't give me the 'copy' option. Hmm, will ask Siri maybe.

Diana, hope your husband's health improves. Your new orchids are really nice, especially that pretty little coral Cattleya. A real beauty.

Newly open for me a couple of days ago, Grt. Why Not with it's one nice cluster of blooms. They were a very deep, rich red when they first came out, but are brightening up to their usual beautiful rosy red now.

Epi radicans continues to pour out blooms, but they're on such long stems that they're widely scattered and I can't get a nice picture of the whole plant at all. Going to make an attempt to gather them together with a string to make them more decorative and less messy, this evening when it cools off. (oh, summer is here today Crying Argh)

Looks great Elaine! The color sometime varies based on sun exposure on most of my blooms. And my Epi's haven't bloomed yet.
You have the latest version so pretty sure it would work on yours. When I press on my photos it will pop with a photo like this. And choosing share gives me an option to save image and that image has a black background!

Thank You!

I don't know if it's a Cattleya or not (no tag), but it was too cute to pass up. Here's a photo in daylight without the added yellow from incandescent lighting.

The flower is 2" tall by 1 1/2" wide. The whole plant is only 7" tall - if that helps.
