The leaves are wonderful! I recently got the same color flower, but plain green leaves. Nice find!

Looking good! Thumbs up

Here is my small Pleurothallis grobyi forma aurea or alba. (The regular form has small red stripes). I had stuck it to a Cholla piece and it is starting to adhere to it.

Contemplating trying a Dendrobium. The local nursery I got the spotted plant from has some in bloom with nice purple flowers. Thinking of going to check them out. I regretted not looking at them more yesterday. They're a few streets away, so I might wander over and see what the pricing is like. I think they only had three. If I get one, I'll have pictures to share soon enough.

They did have some gorgeous Phals though. Fancier ones than they usually have. Makes me wonder what the bigger nursery has. There's a big one not far from here that supplies the smaller ones. Wonder what they might have for orchids.

Think I've officially caught the orchid bug... Blinking

TK, nice one!
Would you be able to keep this one outside over the Summer?
I have a very similar one, I hang it outside in Summer, water and fertilize with everything else. It always adds nice growth for me then and starts blooming when I take it inside in the Fall.

Possibly could. We aren't frost free until mid-May, so I have a short growing season. But it could probably go out after that.

Great! Thumbs up Looks like we are actually in the same climate zone. I always have to watch cold night temperatures usually until the middle of May.

Maybe I'll try moving it out there in the warmer months. I kind of want to try moving some Phals outdoors as well. I've always grown them strictly indoors.

I did that last Summer! I mounted a Phal hanging down to a basket and it looked happy growing like that. I didn't have to worry about water collecting in the crown and causing trouble.

TK I think you'll love a Dendrobium. They take watering a little more often than Phals because they have more, and finer roots but the flowers always last for months for me, even in the brutal Florida summer heat.

That'd be by biggest worry is too much water or crown rot. It rains so much here in the warmer months. I have to bring any cactus and succulents I put outside, in occasionally so they stop getting drenched.

Noted! Should I let it dry out fully before watering, or do they like to stay a bit damp? It's pretty soaked at the moment, as the place I got it from tends to overwater a lot... but the visible roots look healthy. Of the three plants, the other two had some yellowing leaves, presumably from overwatering. Mine are all green, so hoping it escaped too much drenching.

Yes, as long as there is good air circulation, your Den can stay a bit damp. Mine are hanging up outside in my pool cage, and they get misted every morning when it's warm weather - most of the time here in Florida from now until November. I let them dry out more in winter when the nights are cool.

I always feel lucky that this blooms for me.
It's been a tough month out at the bench. Fusiarium is running rampant and I'm loosing plants left and right. I threw out at least 15 in the past week. I hope with the help of scary fungicides , I can get it in check soon.

Beautiful blooms Lindsey!

I just read about "fusarium" after reading your posts. Yikes I didn't know about it and that it could spread to other orchids. That explains how I lost my 57 orchids in the early 2000's!
