Here is a Rockii NOID that I bought on Ebay 10 years ago. The flower does not look anything like the pic that the seller posted. Hilarious! Hilarious! It's a poor grower and bloomer as it is planted near trees and in partial shade. I have meant to move it for years but haven't got around to it. It finally blooms for the second time after many years without blooms. I think it is worth the wait. It's really pretty.

Karen, all your peonies are absolutely stunning Hurray! Hurray! Hurray!

The hot pink NOID Rockii is a surprise Lovey dubby I saw some hot pink Rockiis, but they are usually lacking something (e.g., they have overexposed pistils, they don't have stamens at all, or the blotches are too small). Yours is beautiful and it looks fertile. Hopefully, it will bloom more next year Crossing Fingers!

Wow Karen, you are having a fabulous year. Your Joseph Rock is amazing and it does look wonderful next to Ofujinishiki!

Thanks for showing your MP. It is so pretty.

And that NOID is worth the wait.

Keep those photos coming!

Karen, I have found that the Japanese Tree Peonies in general are easier to grow and florish.

Many peonies are heavily budded this year, but some suffered damage from the March freeze. Iphigenia, for example, has one bloom. Also, some herbaceous were affected. Here is the single bloom on Pluto (planted 2019).

Great pic. Very nice plant. Healthy leaves and like the beautiful color on the bloom.
Most peony's have a spicey scent. I like to pic the blooms and bring them inside . At night pop them in the frig and they last for weeks.

We had a big thunderstorm with hail yesterday. I was so surprised when I found these blooms this morning. I had no idea they even had buds!

First year bloom on Manchurian Promise. Its bud was tucked under the foliage and had already lost several petals. Sorry my hand is in the photo, but it the stem had a hook.

Mieko2 ..we have a lot of hail and rain 🌧️ here too. All the peony's are still in bud. Hoping to warm up here by Thursday afternoon maybe see a couple blooms from the old tree peony's. We are 2-3 weeks behind the normal blooming cycle for peony's. Kind of stuck in a winter/spring Limbo.

Your peony's are just stunning. You have an amazing peony collection. Adore your garden. Lovey dubby

My first bloom Hurray! My tree peonies in pots started to grow in the cold room too early and I had to set up the lights earlier than last year. The result is the first bloom of Godaishu on May 6! This peony grows so fast! It has 4 buds! My Center Age which is one year older has only one bud this year. All pots are on the deck right now, no freezing temperatures are in the forecast.

Is Ice Age as floriferous as touted? Nice pics of these.

Hephestos is a huge bloom, darker than Pluto. This bush was from Solaris, about the fourth year.

Congrats Anya! That looks beautiful! I know you are happy to have blooms.

Mantis, I planted Ice Age in Fall of 2020 and this is its first bloom. The sales listing said it was vigorous. Hopefully it will start acting like that. Your Hesphestos is gorgeous!

What tremendous tree peonies! Mantis, Hephestos has such exceptional color too. I have found very tough to capture on camera.
Happy for you Anya in that your season is underway!
LG, you'd never guess hail came your way. I tip my hat to you.
Karen the rockii NOID is delicate and beautiful.

Sorry Jasmin,
These are fairly far apart. I haven't had a chance to check on them today, but we had storms overnight and it's hot today so I bet they don't look very good today.

Thanks Tracey, I imagine you can't wait to see your own peonies blooming.

Jasmine Thank You! For the Acorn

We have had so much rain the past few days there is flooding in some areas down the hill . The road is blocked to get out by a vehicle however, I can always saddle up one of the boys - horses and ride into town. I tip my hat to you.

Bea, I just have this image now of you riding your horse into town, bypassing the road block waving and saying bu-bye, folks!

I reviewed this thread last night because I needed to see all these flowers again as I patiently await mine. I've said it before and I'll say it again, you guys really do some great growing and this year's flowers have been stunning.

The picture of the horses and rider must be a hilarious vision. I know it is just getting on all the riding gear is a hoot. Cowgirl Hat , jeans ,chaps. And most importantly saddlebags loaded with necessities. Rolling on the floor laughing

The flood water has cleared the road the culvert was backed up as usual.

I'm in the same boat waiting patiently for just a first peony to open. Temps are set for a historic heat wave this weekend . Hope the peony buds don't cook out in 90 degree heat. Crossing Fingers!
